my opinion is well known whether they cheated or not the programme should have coughed up as the other millionaires are instantly forgettable,
they created a lot of copy for newspaper and media, and provoked much merriment albeit unintentionally.Presumably Chris Tarrant was quoted at the time about the questionable morals involved whilst giving his mistress a good seeing to!

One interesting footnote to the whole episode is that she wrote a book about "How to Win Big on WWTBAM" which I had ordered on Amazon. She, her husband and their friend (the other guy involved in the Major's case IIRC) had all been on and I wondered whether they had some sort of insider information as to how to improve your chances of being chosen via the phonelines, i.e. something other than simply to phone up hundreds/thousands of times. I thought it had to be worth £10 to find out but the book was never published, presumably having to be pulled after the court case.
Talking of which, the Sunday redtops had a big story some time last year about a high level of organised cheating on WWTBAM. If prosecutions are going to come out of that then presumably the court cases will soon be in the news...

Dont think that anything came of it. Paddy Spooner got a lot of flak although quite unfairly for offering to stump up the money for a contestants phone calls , be the phone a friend and then walk away with 20-25% of the contestants winnings.1 of the people involved I know reasonably well who unfortunately got to the programme but not past the fastest finger. The other won a not inconsiderable sum but its unknown how much Paddy got for his efforts.

When was she on it?
I'm presuming it was before her husband?
