switched off at lunchtime

i've noticed lately that an increasing number of pubs are turning their machines off at lunchtime (it appears to be a hogshead policy for example). i am not a pro by any means but i do tend to win and if i go for a pub lunch i always aim to pay for whatever i eat/drink with SWP earnings but now this simple pleasure is vetoed. cah.

Are you sure this is just a lunchtime phenomenon i.e. are the same machines on if you go in later in the day or is it the even more annoying problem of broken machines being left switched off for anything from a day or two right up to a few weeks?

i'm pretty sure that if i went back there after work the SWP fairy will have fixed them. trouble is i like a pint so tend to go to pubs with dirty pipes etc. if ever i play at lunchtimes and save decent pubs for a jar or two after work when i don't have anything better to do. (most days :( )
