pulling the plug

Went exploring last weekend and came across an old machine. Bought a coke, grabbed a high stool and set to work. First jp was easy and quick. Second one ok but i started getting paranoid people were watching. but when the cash came out there was noone around due to smokers being outside.
So I went for one last one. Stood up, was putting my hat and jacket back on when a woman appears out of nowhere, doesn't look at me or say anything to me but crouches down and pulls the plug out of the wall! The money was in my pocket and I was leaving anyway.
Talk about passive agressive!

What was the machine Roger?

I had a similar (although not as remunerative) experience in Blackpool a short while back. Found an old JPM Gamebox (or whatever they were called) in an incredibly ramshackle and crappy seafront hotel. Bought a diet coke and took about £20 in twenty minutes; as I left the elderly barmaid / landlady shouted at me "that's right, take all our money, why don't you? And you only bought a diet coke!".

First time in really quite a long while I've had any gyp while SWPing - I suspect the kinds of pubs that have old SWPs are probably also ones which are congenitally unfriendly to non-locals.

The last time something like that happened to me the guy not only unplugged the machine but wheeled it across the pub (it was on castors) and locked it in a cupboard!

Sometimes you just dont what to say :)

Actually i DID! I asked for a coke and got a pepsi. This may sound petty but I can't stand pepsi (the drink - the games alright!) and much prefer coke. Losing count of the amount of times I'll say "Do you have coke?", am replied to in the affirmative and then served pepsi.

I can't remember what those machine are called - the fat purple ones with PCQ, WWTBAM, old Cluedo etc on....

Glad I'm not the only arsehole who asks for a Coke in a bar - then asks for something else when I see them reaching for the Pepsi.

Not that I buy a great many Cokes in pubs, but there you are...
