spotted in Havant HAMPSHIRE friday 30nov lunchtime (not by me) . Greasy shoulder length dark hair , late 40's early 50's , big bear like, spotted playing cleudo?! smoker and drinker therefore probably travels by train. any ideas could this be hyena (i dont think so he wouldnt recoup his train fair!) thanks. giveaway is that he has a tendency to shuffle. could be an swp playing zombie.

when i see Hyena he is in a cheap suit stealing my money from paragons.
he used to know who i am, but he doesn't seem to recognise me these days. he used to be very good on SIL/SIR but then we were all good at that.
his hair is not that long though and he looks quite a lot like captain black.

don't know quite what you're getting at in that last post, sue denim. sorry if i'm so new at this i've missed the point.
surprised you guys don't remember max, he came from the isle of wight and played loads down that way, haven't seen him for a couple of years now but the description fits.
on the hyena front, i speak to him about 3 times a week and used to play strike it rich with him as a pair for roughly 3 years. it is fair to say he lacks his previous sartorial elegance but the passion and urgency of his play has never been in doubt or diminished. he is a good friend.

does seem to ring a bell. there was an irish chap called Tom who though not in the premier league of swp's(last known installing sky satellite dishes)was pretty handy before the advent of the multi game terminal and I think he colloborated with Max on occasions. The hyena thing is more of a running joke not having met him, however it started because he seems to think there is kudos in posting up your name on any game with a highscore. Im not after kudos just kuDOSH.

you can have all the high scores in the world if i get all the money. highscores do not always equate to actually winning anything much and dont prove that the player is any good (word up excepted ). if you want kudos join winchester quiz league and defeat the mighty kevin ashmans.
wow i reached 218.7 on hells bells winning £1 but at least i got the highscore,it was well worth the sixty mile round trip!

Personally I find it interesting to see who has been in particular pubs by reference to the scoreboards particular when they are in a les sobvious location or off the particular player's usual manor.

I can't see what your problem is with this Cool- let's face it your not exactly publicity shy

Cool chooses an easy target in HB as well. Clearly it, and Capers, are games where the scoreboard bears no relevance to the amount of winnings, and I'm sure no serious SWP player is overly concerned about getting on the HB scoreboard. For other games, though, the scoreboard clearly is an indicator of skill - FFQ is a classic example where it's easy to gauge a sense of how well-played the machine is from the size of the top score. Likewise Tetris is moderately useful although of course players have the option of not recording a name or their score. Personally I do gain a fair bit of childish enjoyment from posting decent scores under my "tag" although I do agree that winning money is far more important than getting a big score.
