fyi; it was Cambridge Utd's
nobody ever wins on those things.

I'm more ashamed that we've just been relegated to the conference Demmerz! :(

CUFC - The River Plate of the conference. We'll piss this tin pot league anyway!

I'm new to this board and was just reading through the old topics, but my own personal favourite (narrowly beating 'What is Whitney Houston's star sign? (Leo for the record)) is 'What was Michael Schumacher's average speed at the 1998 British Grand Prix?' 'A 187.667km/h, B 187.567km/h, C 187.767km/h'. Ridiculous!

Playing Dr Fox's Pepsi Chart Quiz has caused no end of grief. Aside from how much Stevie wonder's contract with Pepsi was, the star signs of various pop stars and the fact that I got I.d. by Pearl Jam was a friggin B-side only released in America and NOT a 'hit' Doc, I have had on the guess 6 from 12 round - 6 tracks from Celine Dion's Au Couer Du stade album, with 12 plausible french answers to choose from...

Also, on the old Stand And Deliver (and Hence my nom de plume) - DIY, 3 letters, second letter 'A'. For big money, the answer was of course, that much used implement - ZAX.

What rating did the Daily Mail give Jason McAteer in the Bolton-Bury match in 1993/94? (or some such) in TV Times I think.

a:6
b:7
c:8
d:9

Best to give up when the machine's in this mood.

She does indeed, and oddly enough she has the same surname as the only other famous person ever to come from Rochdale (Gracie Fields - real name Gracie Stansfield) - cue hoards of complaints from proud residents of Rochdale...

:D

My personal "favourite" most ridiculous question was on I believe the very first of the machines - DLT's Give Us a Break - What was Michael Caine's serial number in the Army? (the answers being four 8 digit numbers). It's possible that not even Michael Caine would know the answer to that one!

"Where in the British Isles are you most likely to see a cow?

A - Shetland Isles
B - Buckinghamshire
C- Warwickshire
D- Isle of Man"

Took 50/50 and it left with A and C. C was correct apparently, although I get the feeling no matter what I hit it would have been wrong.

Worst question i got about 2 years ago was this one :

What is the Zanussi ZN1094234?

a) A toaster
b) A Washing machine
c) A Microwave

I doubt anyone other than a Zanussi employee would know that!

FC has been updated. I took a picture of a new Rochdale legend with my phone. As soon as I can work out how to post it I will. :o ops:

And also on the new World Cup Game on the endgame T or F bit.

I realise that the questions are open in that they have one word which can be changed to make the answer more difficult than a normal Q. XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX was in the XXXXX 19XX Squad for World Cup XXXXXXXX T or F.

But I had one today...

Paraguay's best ever win was 7-0 against Paraguay True or False

Apparently it is true!!! Dunno how they managed to beat themselves by so much!
