Quiz tipples

When on a quiz machine expedition what do people tend to drink? In the daytime I like a diet Coke or occasionally a nice coffee at 89p from Wetherspoons. In the evening it has to be a lager for me. Well done to the manufacturers of the quiz units for putting pint-sized rollocks on the sides.
Shame on that one where you can't put a full pint in as you have to tilt it first. One of the silver ones, I think.

The older Gamesnets, yes? Choice Turbo or something like that.
I usually get a pint whatever the time of day, but tend to drink it pretty slowly.

For me generally at the first two or three venues a pint of diet coke with "a little bit" of ice. By the third venue, if I'm out for that long, I tend to feel a bit flightly with the caffeine (lame I know) so might switch to a weaker session ale e.g. IPA or somesuch. Pints really affect my machining though so I tend to try and switch back and forward between diet cokes and ales from then on.

In principle I oppose the smoking ban but at least we won't be seeing any more ash crusting up the screen.

"a little bit"
Funnily, I always utter those exact three words when ordering a drink worthy of 'a bit' of ice...

Gotta be a pint of lager. Coke if I'm in the car but I get sick of it after a few

Has to be soft drinks for me! Keeps the price down
I could order a half in every pub, but you'd look like a right jessie so there's no point!

In Wetherspoons today the pub absolutely stank of b.o. That smoke hid a multitude of sins.
I tend to drink water unless I'm in a nice real ale pub where I'll have a pint or two.

Orange juice for me to start. No s(c)urvy for me. Then I get fidgety and paranoid so I have a pint of Guiness. Never the same as it is in Ireland, sometimes you get a crap Shamrock on the head. I maybe have another Guiness whereby I am chilled, with the flow, but not super cold. Then I have to switch back to the oranges before driving home.
In my car's glove compartment I have a bottle of water and some other stuff which is irrelevant for this thread.
Cor Blimey I was in the >>bloop<< in >>bloopingham<< the other day. When I say bloop, I'm talking about a chain Yates/Goose/Spoons/lloydsesque type pub and when I say bloopingham I'm talking about somewhere in England, perhaps Nottingham, but then again maybe not.
Anyway, the bartenders were not fussy about clientel. These two heroin addicts were smooshed out their brains and the body odour was immense. In fact I was messing up on the bloomin' machine as the smell was wretched. At least in some more locally pubs they'd have been shunned instantly. That's the thing with some of these big anonymous pubs, great for loafing onto the bandit, smelly clientel not so good.
It's pretty obvious what I'm there for, I've giving up on the old pretending to text a mate business, look around for five minutes before playing a fruit machine 'to while away some time and loose change'.
I'm buying a drink and I want to play a fruit machine. It's an arcade with booze. Not beer with bandits. Is that so hard to live with? Let's face it, there are all sorts of oddballs in pubs at lunchtime, so some other wierdo no mates type person (me) coming in to streakybloop up the machine isn't going to look out of place.....or does it?
Incidentally I'm £1 up on quiz machines this week. I played ELW and got a bonus £1,£3,£3,£2 thing after the first round. Unexpected. Actually hell no, I put 50p in a Bullseye and won £1 as well. I'm £1.50 up on that and £bloop up on ?????
End.

I sometimes wonder if you've had a whole keg of Guinness before you post on here judging by the randomness of most of your posts streaky :P
That said, they are legendary and amuse me a lot. Keep them going

cheap wetherspoons coffees at the start of a day session (is there anything more depressing than wetherspoons in the morning?)
cokes at lunchtime, pints (and only pints) after work.

Wetherspoons in the morning - good for one thing: That Cheap Breakfast! Often start my Friday off with one of those.
Oh, and it's generally pints for me, be it most types of beer or cider (hence the ice quote!). But then I do get through about 10 pubs in a session, and as it's a Friday, I don't mind getting a bit on the inebriated side.
I realise this thread has been marginally hi-jacked by AWP merchants, but I still enjoy at least one go on the quizzer in each pub after my initial 'playing'.

DOND is a nightmare if the beer has been going down well - all sense of er, sensibility goes out the pub door when I get to the cash round and usually end up with <£2. lol

You'll just have to wait for the B.O. ban next year

Last time i checked, BO wasn't a cause of lung cancer, so that doesn't matter!
It made me laugh when all the smokers started saying pubs will smell of sweat instead. Do they think everyone is an uncivilised pig who doesn't wash? Poor argument!
