Nested games menus

Saw an updated Games Warehouse (Paragon 2) machine the other day. Nothing very notable on it (Golden Boot 2 had appeared, and maybe Wordwise which I don't think was there before) but the notable thing was a Megatouch world option, which when pressed, went through to a further sub-menu full of rubbish Megatouch games of the kind I never play. All most odd; has anyone else seen this before?

Yep seen a couple of these recently and after what seemed like an eternity for menu to boot up, it seemed that there was no cash on offer so quickly went back to losing on all the other shite offerings available.

yes. like you i haven't bothered with the megatouch non-prize games. why would anyone waste time and money play clunky, old, boring games with no opportunity to win anything? it's beyond me especially when paragon is otherwise quite slick.

also new is the spinny cash thing which is easy to win upwards of £10 on but the endgame is obviously bent so in actual;ity you don't get what you have won, message in a bottle which is pretty easy if you are good at that sort of thing, PMP has some new categories such as 'rubbish swp games', 'in a mug', 'a little bit poofy' and so on. this is a good thing.

GB2 looks like a waste of time though which is a pity, especially given that WU seems to have been ousted from the new paragon selection in favour of not much to write home about.

Haven't come across one of these with the sub menu on yet. Did come across one with the original Silver Falls on the other day. Fuck me that was a right beano.

How long did the original silver falls last? I wasnt doing much SWPing at the time but remember this fondly (it was like a cash machine) but seemed to disappear within about 6 weeks of me first seeing it.

It was around for a couple of months then gone.

My admission is I never played Silver Falls at all - must have lost out on a lot of cash there. How can I tell when an SWP has the original Silver Falls? What other games will it have?

No doubt QM can verify but as well as the frequent JP tokens I seem to recall that when dropping the coins it was a fairly easy skill shot to determine whether you got a question, a free coin to drop or a higher value coin to drop when available £1, £2, £5 £10 etc.

A quick 50p will reveal whether it is the old one as it is sufficiently different gameplay to notice immediately. Even if its the old one there is sometimes a few free £s to be hoovered.

Must admit I have never seen the old one since the halcyon days referred to above.

Errr, there weren't any questions in the original. You just drop the coins.

yep remember now- I think you lost lives by hitting the X on the skill shot rather than a coin?

Ah, the lack of questions will have been what would have encouraged me to overlook it entirely - generally if something doesn't involve questions I won't play it as I'll lack the skill advantage over the average punter needed to turn a profit. Sounds like even for me that might not have been the case on original Silver Falls. Ah well, at least I'll know it if I ever see it.

My local has just got the 'megatouch world tab' and having just come back from Portugal on holiday it reminded me of all the shitey touch screen boxes on the end of bars over there.

Erotic spot the difference was always my favourite. My girlfriend used to play it with me and it cheered me up no end to hear her say "her fan*y is different in that pic".

Overall Megatouch is still a load of crap though.
