Allstars Quiz

Post by rogerthymes »

Where did it disappear to? Quite liked it but it came and went before it developed into true love! Seemed a lot fairer than most games on the dreaded itboxes nowadays :x

Itbox never give anything a chance unless it has a license on it. I've seen it on some Gamesnets though.

Has it gone from all ItBoxes? Very disappointing if so; I was enjoying it a lot and had taken numerous £5s but not yet the £10 JP (I don't play the bonus game to double the prizes!) Seemed an unusually fair game in the modern age: in particular, the questions didn't seem to get steadily harder during the game, so using up lifelines early on didn't necessarily mean you wouldn't move up from, say, £1 to £3. The prize lock-in at each level is also to be applauded.

It's still on a lot of Fatboxes, I think, although (unusually) the ItBox version seemed to me to be rather more generous. Anyway, if it's gone that's a real shame.

At risk of straying off-topic, I note that Countdown has also disappeared from the newest ItBox release. It wasn't the world's greatest payer, but I for one always enjoyed it - can't help feeling that the Great Escape for Allstars and Countdown is a bit of a bum deal. :-(

Agree re Countdown- you could always steal a few quid off it particularly in the Thicko Arms of this world.

Liked the idea of hybrid of trivia based game with word/ numbers type element ie combining some of the appeal of (whisper it quietly) WU with your more standard Q&A type.

I cannot believe that this was less popular than some of the other dross on there.

Presumably they decided to replace a game where some people won small amounts of cash with one where no one wins any cash. Simple really!
