Bearing in mind most boxes are on ADSL why not have multiplayer games where each player competes directly with other players and the highest scorers duel then somebody wins.

Obviously some times of days its busier than others so the prize fund could be smaller

Technology is there would be like golden tee live where at our lunchtime you would play loads of pissed up Americans and potentially south Africans the other side of the time difference

I think it would probably be better if you had a couple of machines in the same location for this idea to work.

I think that the point is John wouldn't know how to 'locate' his mate Paul playing on the machine in the pub down the road. I doubt they could make something 'idiot-proof' along those lines...

Sorry, it has been one of those days. No need for misplaced vitriol. x

My apologies. it's difficult with this medium to know whether someone is being sarcastic or not. Also how to judge someone's knowledge base, as some people on here are vomitting wordsmiths with questionable ideals.

If you play online multiplayer games, on a PC or console, you have to 'sit' in a 'lobby' sometimes to wait for other players to join or for games to be created. I just mean't sometimes it can be a long time and can also be complicated with latency and player issues. You could end up with 1/3 of the actual game you play in such a situation; and that's even before you start to play!
