Anyone got any good tactics to minimise losses on the quizzers?

I'm thinking of playing a maximum of twice on any individual game on any machine, and then quitting whether ahead or behind..

Or maybe keep playing until you win your first prize, and then stop, no matter what size the prize?

It's hard to generalise but the best piece of advice I can think of is to think about what you are good at and what you enjoy and then tailor your game selection to that. What you don't play is at least as important as what you do.

Once you start to specialise on a few games you then need to be able to identify when a game might be worth playing or not.

To take one example, you should get a reasonably long and relatively enjoyable game for your 50p from Monopoly Deluxe and that is pretty much 100% general knowledge, i.e. there are no puzzles etc. However you have to resign yourself to never winning more than £1 from the standard game.

In order to decide if there is any chance of winning the separate Cashpot (which varies between £5 and £20) you have to estimate what is an average score for yourself and then see how close you are getting to the points needed for the Cashpot on any particular game - I believe it starts at 10,000 and heads down towards 5,000 at the rate of 10 points re 50p game. If the target is towards the lower end of that scale and your average points per game is around 3,000-4,000 you can see how it might be worth your pursuing the target with a few 50p's. If the target is 10,000 then choose something else to pay.

Hopefully I haven't given away too many secrets to the lurking industry insiders there...

Don't play them to start with.

It's very hard to generalise, as Nil Satis says. I would say the main thing is to work out how the game's prize structure operates, formulate a strategy for profit maximisation and then HAVE A STRONG ENOUGH WILL TO STICK TO IT WHILST IN THE THICK OF THINGS.

By following the third guideline, you will already be a step ahead of 90% of games players and gamblers out there.
