Some more additions from me this week...

Hogs Head, Farringdon - DRIZZLIER, QUIZZICAL (twice), 1880.

I was also approached by someone calling himself "STEVE W" who was very proud of his 9/10 letter longest word record. I dont think he'd seen a clearance before.

His "advice" was priceless.

also Fotherz, i know Steve W, nice enough fella but not that impressive on WU. didn't realise he travelled though. was he alone or avec oiseau?

He was alone, and said its not his usual area. I think he said he was a South/East London man. Perhaps he was there for other reasons.

He told me he knew of a journalist who was good on the quizzers... you??

i suppose it might be, not sure he knows i'm a hack though. had he said he knew of a handsome, charming, witty and intelligent man who was good on the quizzers that would have been a description i'd have recognised.

anyhow, my latest offerings (all O ABACAXI):

i am the only running footman, berkeley square: FRIZZLERS (a word so unconvincing that it appears on only 174 websites most of which are wordlist sites), COMPARATIVES (much more satisfying but for only half the points)

Wouldn't accept QAT the other night, which I thought it would. Ended up with an abysmal 575 points.

hard luck Dz, personally i can't stand QAT but keep at it. afaik the only Q-U word WU allows is QWERTY.

i spent an entire hour playing for just long words yesterday lunchtime.
LOCKSMITHERY is not allowed and i fouled up what would have been a 16 trying to add a prefix.

Well I'm not a fan of QAT but I read that it would be accepted and I needed that extra 10 seconds. As it happened, it wasted 5. I looked very daft to boot

i am very pleased to be bottom of the pile in longest words, one day i will get ASSASSINATE to cement my place there. but now for my heroic 17, 18, 19 or 20-letter word which i plan to get this evening.

Just updated the board and noticed that TEMPESTUOUS is actually the least valuable word on the national boards. Get in.

Fotherz - your second best solo score is 1884. Hence complete flukeage.
