Quiz machines based on game shows
this is the machine i mentioned a while back that used too pay out in little stickers that you stuck on a card, and it was taken of the price of your next pint, when i mentioned it before no-one had heard of it, but it was a good machine, i'm not a quiz player but it did like too repeat the questions and being a big snooker fan i always would have a play on it, maybe it was'nt called big break..... but it deffo featured John Virgo???

'little stickers that you stuck on a card' - Jeez! Was this during post-war rationing?
The only Big Break I remember was the mid- to late-'90s effort that, like other Maygays of that period, offered a 50p Play/£5 JP or £1 Play/£20 JP.
QM notes Strike It Lucky/Rich ... how could I forget that? A decent game the original, despite the initial buggy circuit boards.
On a more current note, although not the actual title of the cartoon, you might include Caveman Capers.
Thinking the other way, anyone care for a sweepstake on what the next TV-based quizzer might be? I'll go for the obvious and say Knobheads although I would have thought that that would have been done by now.

Do you mean that you found the Pepsi Music Quiz on an ItBox?! - if so that's not just old, that's positively ancient! - at least 3 years old I'd say.dmac wrote:Played this for the first time on an Itbox yesterday. Presumably it's very old or very new.
It's just another boring badly-programmed Q&A game, so don't get too excited![]()
If it's a new release on the other hand, one or two on here are likely to get VERY excited...

Me for one! Though I've never understood why they couldn't bring it back with a tighter format...they kind of did that with TOTPNil Satis wrote:

There was an old Family Fortunes game (about 6/7 years ago at a guess) which could be quite lucrative if you caught it right. It was on the first version of the Gamesnets cabinet I believe - the smaller slanted ones as opposed to the six foot oval ones - and usually accompanied the original version of the current Battleships when it was still worth playing (unlike the current Version 3 waste of space so beloved of mug punters).dmac wrote:heh shit... sorry
It was Family Fortunes...
There's a Games Cube ? at Glasgow Airport if that's any help![]()
