I've got a GamesNet in a pub very near my work which has been switched off, I presume broken, for about two or three months now. Seems bizarre that Gametec would just let broken machines go unfixed for months - is there some sort of dispute between Gamestec and these pubs?cool wrote: Take for example the Varsity in Southampton city centre. The Gamesnet adjacent to the lower bar had been switched off for more than a month(Dec-Jan).It was eventually 'fixed' and then brokedown within a day.
lets get a comment from someone hiding in the gamestec bunker.
It's not clear which bit you mean isn't true - if it's the second part (re laying people off) then presumably you might have inside information to know that isn't true, in which case fair comment, but if you mean the first part then that seems bang on the money to me, and for exactly the same reasons that others have stated - appalling games content and seemingly little or no regard for fixing broken Gamesnets. Even if the latter is outside Gamestec's direct control, they surely have an interest in helping machine owners and operators ensure that their machines work 99% of the time!kingzilla wrote:Not true mate.cool wrote:Ive been told by a publican that Gamestec have given up the ghost with gamesnets once they took over leisure link.Apparently they have been laying off a lot of people.
I would ask the manager why he has not rang one of the numbers that is on the machine, there is no point trying to ring them yourselves as they dont take punters callscool wrote:cool wrote:

'Not true mate'.
I thought that would explain their shocking lake of imagination and content on their machines at the moment and their service (at least in the below location) is crap.

Trouble with that is that it flags you to the barman as someone who's got a vested interest in the machine working, when that's exactly the impression I'd rather not give to pubs near work. The weird thing is that on previous occasions when my local Gamesnet broke, it always got fixed properly (and sometimes resetkingzilla wrote:I would ask the manager why he has not rang one of the numbers that is on the machine, there is no point trying to ring them yourselves as they dont take punters calls
