Mention of Crystal Maze reminds me of the semi-clone version, The Mating Game. I recall a supplier with a sense of humour having located one in a gay bar. I guess it was an extremely camp game.

Still not convinced.

£4 profit assuming a 100% hit rate equates to 7,500 games. I would suggest that 5 minutes was the minimum game time, more like an average total time from hitting start to being able to hit start again of about 7 minutes

I agree that there were a lot of units about for a period of time. Assuming Foxy was based in Glasgow at the time I would suggest that 100 would be a very generous estimate of units in central Glasgow and surrounding areas and taking account of the banning, this leaves 99.

Thus, Foxy would have to hit each machine over 75 times to reach the suggested £30k. Bearing in mind that the machines also had to be played by other people to enable Foxy to win their money and I'm sure he was doing something else with his life at the time, I just think that £30k is a bit on the high side.

I'm sure that he did very well, although once you factor in all the half pints of 80/- that he would have been downing in between giving the tracker ball a bashing and any travel expenses on the Clockwork Orange and £30k doesn't go very far.

There were several incarnations of this machines and they were around for several years.

Incidentally, how much did these machines hold?

£40/hour does not allow for much travel time between machines.

Yes, there were several incarnations over a significant period of time, but I would say that they were only really widely distributed (as per my generous 100 estimate) for a much more limited period.

Hopefully, Foxy will indeed speak for himself and sort all this out.
