woman in quiz machining

Post by cool »

or rather lack of.Has there been any A* women in playing machines. The only woman who had any ability I'm aware of was an American woman who was on tv for getting banned early 90's, who I actually bumped into in a pub off the M3 (she was particularly good on Quizitor)She was rotund , blonde ,with glasses and liked a pint from what I can remember.
Is it because women havent got what it takes or do they have more important things to do like painting their nails or shopping etc?And having the ability to play machines seem to act as a babe repellent rather than a magnet.

I have never seen a good female player playing a machine. I've met a few woman word up junkies - one of whom dragged me off to give her a coaching session - but they were all pretty average.

I think playing the machines alone, like some Billy-no-mates introverted loser is unattractive to women - they cannot understand why someone would give abstract computer games more attention than them. However, female friends of mine enjoy watching me spank Word Up for cash when I'm out in a group, maybe thinking that I'm doing it to impress them (which I am). I also play much better when near fit girls.

More to the point, has anyone ever found a woman inside a quiz machine? Given the smaller stature of the average woman, it is surely much more likely that, were someone found inside a quiz machine, it would be a woman rather than a man. :? :

well put Bob, (except that bit at the end; have you been at the catnip?)
to add to this, not only have i never seen a woman playing (unless i'm carrying her or she is two women playing some dross like STD or it is the famous drippy couple (q.v.)) i have never seen anyone apart from white men playing. while you wouldn't expect foreigners to understand the nuances of british culture to which games are necessarily biased asian/oriental/black brits seem utterly disinterested, this may be just my experience, i have an asian friend who was brought up almost exactly the same as myself and he will happily plug fruits but couldn't give a tinker's cuss for the SWP.
mind you the demographics of SWP freaks is pretty similar to that of pubgoers.
nobody ever wins on those things.

I trained my missus to empty Gamesnets once. It was a while ago, on a game with a certain trick that could be easily learned.

One very different thing I noticed about this experience (only lasted a couple of months before the game was removed).

She would order a coke and play it on her own. Even as the 5th £20 came out, no-one ever, ever, said anything to her. Bar staff and landlords marvelled alike at her ability.

I went back to one of the pubs 6 months later and spanked a different game for £20.

And the landlord told me to fuck off.

Talk about equality of the sexes.
Stupid punters. Telly all the week, screw the wife Saturday

Yes, I agree. For instance, I have seen gangs of British Indians playing fruities at Essex Uni, but not touching the quizzies.

From what I know of my asian friends, they don't have the same enthusiasm for pointless Britcult trivia that many quiz fanatics do. From a sample of 2 families, I can also declare that Asian families' houses are sparsely furnished only with hi-tech electronics and school books - they have none of the eclectic boot sale tat that leads the young white Briton similarly to amass collections of coins, postcards, facts and figures etc.

Quizmaster - I see your problem; ever considered wearing a skirt?

There has been an example of a British West Indian chap who was training to become a lawyer, who gave up his career to pursue quiz machining . He came from the Midlands.Never saw him.Featured in the sun. Also there is a guy who comes from Inner London called Suri who is of Asian extraction (Finchley/Hampstead).Also there was a guy from Hampstead (Indian) studying in Southampton who was so brilliant at the 2nd section of ESC that humiliated me to such an extent that I stopped visiting the Uni until he left! I dont think he turned pro though.I suppose that apart from the major cities the percentage of ethnic minorities in the population is low, so there will be few ethnic players. Its a shame as a female quiz machine playing Afghani asylum seeker wearing a burkah is unlikely to be recognised after returning to a pub after being banned. That could be my new identity! Ill let you know how my visit to the Litten Tree in this guise went. Also did the guy from eggheads graduate from quiz machine playing?

Ahh....wondered when something about Eggheads would arise! Do you mean CJ? 8)

I was thinking team fruitchat could have a decent chance. I'm a walking sporting trivia book, and take interest in any sport on TV. I read pretty much every british sport page on the bbc, so when sport comes up on the TV show, i'm always getting the answers!

I'd like to take Kevin on....go for the jugular. He's good at sport (and everything), but i reckon i could see him off :D

Chris is rubbish at entertainment....anyone up to beat him?
CJ/Judith are pretty rubbish at everything, so i reckon we could wipe them out.
Daphne is fairly good at most things (along with Kev the best player i reckon) so maybe entertainment/geography for her.

Lets do them over! Prize money of £25k now! :D

This is my new second favourite thread, behind the quizzing stereotypes:
http://www.fruitchat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3654 (which we need to start up again).

I wasted half and hour on Saturday waiting for a group of three chav girls (age about 20 or less?) blowing money on Hex Appeal, Fruitix, and several other games. Didn't notice them win, but they weren't bad at Fruitix and did OK on Crystal Maze. I got bored waiting and left.

I think the low intersection of FEMALES, GEEKS, and PUBGOERS can be to blame for this. Perhaps Vorderman can take over this niche (she has already tried to take over everything else by the look of it).

If you altered the cabinet so the machine looked like a supermarket checkout, then maybe women could operate the machines better.

I haven't found any noticeable ethnicity bias, but then again there are loads of Asians in Cambridge, esp. the uni.

QM: classic. But you were obviously cheating, because you aren't a girl. Maybe pretending to be a robot (stuffing wires and circuit boards under your coat) might help?

Cool: is this the same Suri I know?

Smegheads: how much are the experts paid? If they were good enough to win money on the quiz circuit, would they make more or less?

Yes and the chess title he won is bobbins - our resident VB chess whizz would spank him, for sure.

Hmm yes female/geek/pubgoer...Cambridge has many female geeks, some of whom go down the pub. But do GRANNY'S GASH they have the desire HAIRY MINGE to dominate FLOPPY TITS displayed SOILED KECKS by the VB team?

I'm amazed how editing requests always need editing themselves. You should be ashamed, Ernest - the sentence would have made sense but for that humiliating grammatical blunder.
