Win £1000 on Donkey Derby

Post by tka »

I was chatting to the barman in my local and he showed me a promotion that itbox are running.
Whichever pub's customers play Donkey Derby the most times wins £1000 for the pub's staff. So while you are losing your 50pees on Aidan or Edith in the impossible 3rd race, the barstaff might be cleaning up. Surely prize money should be given to the player rather than the landlord of the place where the player gambles???? Seems wrong to me.
No wonder I drink!

Wow - are there any current promos like this for new games?

True, it would be better going to the players. But this is far easier for the company - they pass the onus for promoting their game onto the barstaff, and get a shedload of plugging for a mere £1000. If they publicised it themselves, they'd have the price of the advertising, and the prize to find. ;)

So maybe the pubs should offer prizes like £50 for best performance in their pub. Problem is no high-score board.

from the playing perspective that is sound but like any company i doubt leisure link has the manpower to justify administering 8000+ cheques for £50.
but those golden tee gowf things used to have prizes for the best score per location so it is not beyond the wit of man.
nobody ever wins on those things.
