Lost my DOND Jackpot virginity

This post kind of relates to Sue Denim's post about playing whilst tired. Kind of.

The local taxi office in my hometown of Troon has a quiz machine. Now Troon's not that big a place so there's never anymore than say a ten minute wait for a taxi. So its rarely played and when it is, its by steaming drunk people on their way home on a Fri / Sat.

I was out pissed out my face on Saturday night and I staggered in to be told there was a fifteen minute wait. Stuck 50p in DOND and a 45000 target. Played 5 boxes - dealt at 18000. Played 5 boxes, dealt 16000. Played 5 boxes, dealt 11000.

In these 15 boxes I must've answered about 9 questions. Most were 1 Q boxes but at least 5 were empty altogether. Just as the cash game begins my taxi arrived - way too early - so I decided just to go all the way (I'm usually conservative and take £4 or £5 if offered). Bingo, £20 and a feeling of what can only be described as ecstasy.

You guys have taken jackpot all the time but for me this was right up there with Christmas. And yet I've played the game hundreds of times sober - but the one night where I had to lean on the machine for a standing aid it comes up trumps.

Must've been ready to go because Ive never seen it play so nicely.

It's certainly true that winning a jackpot of say, £20, on a quiz machine is far more satisfying an achievement than winning £100 on a fruit machine.

For the same reason, it is far more satisfying to take £100 out of a fruit machine using some rip or emptier than it is to just "be lucky".

Good work! I've never taken a DOND JP and would feel similarly gleeful if I ever managed it. Very well done.

PS I did recently manage to take a £10 off 1 vs 100, after what seems like hundreds of end games. So now I know that all of you who swore it was possible were telling me the truth...!
