Another tale of woe today
Playing Cryptic Clues, 19 minutes into the game (not timing it just that one of the guys happened to say at the start it's quarter to one and this happened at 1:04), the win stands at £5 with 2 lives left when suddenly mid-answer the machine resets itself back to the main menu with no sign of the win
Now I know this happens at about 15 minutes on Hex but it's the first time Cryptic has done this
Although LL deny that there's a timelimit hidden in the games, I'm getting less and less convinced with every kick in the teeth!
Cryptic C-Lose!
This is quite disturbing because when you get on a roll on Cryptic Clues you tend to be on the machine for a while.
I usually find I can be on £3 for ages with probably no chance of £4 but I carry on because I can and there is no chance of losing the money because I can collect at any time. But now I'm gonna be a bit edgy about my much valued 3 pound wins (pays for 6 losses on Monopoly

One of the ways a player can gain an edge is by knowing which in games one can collect/enter endgame mid-question. Crucially the X-Factor will not allow you to do this and there are no tries-again, just a 'second chance' on a different question (similar to a PASS feature deployed automatically to save your arse if necessary).
Given the behaviour of Cryptic Clues I'd say you were right to take profit, then perhaps have another go to stave off the 19 minute crash.
