Anyone play these?
Had a go at Silent Scope for the first time in ages the other day. Hit a £3 instant prize. I always feel this game is very winnable if you don't get too greedy. Any cashpot over £4 tends to lead to an impossible final game, either the 'note in the wind' or the wheel speed going off the scale, but given the general crabbitness of Q&A games these days, it could be said there is more 'skill' involved in games such as SS.
I also had a go at some pool game with a genuine cue, but that is a dud due to the fact the computer tels you which ball to pot next. Aye very good.
Any other Crystal Maze style 'physical challenge' games worth a punt?

I once saw four guys each win the Jackpot one after the other on a cash payout Tetris game in a pub in York - they must have arranged themselves like a relay team with the best player at the end as that one definitely got harder when anyone had won on it.
It has always surprised me to be honest that more games companies don't put out cash-paying skill games for things like the various driving games, Tetris, Space Invaders and the like (showing my age there!). Maybe they are nervous of certain individuals being outlandishly good at particular games but you'd have thought it was always possible to set any game to 'non-paying' mode.

I've often thought that as well. But then I remembered just how good I used to be at things like Galaxians.
Put simply, if someone is skillful enough, they will empty a machine. And there is always someone skillful enough. If you have questions in a game, then you can have really really difficult questions, which people aren't meant to get right.
If you were to make a shmup hard enough to be virtually impossible, no-one would play it. At least with a kick-out question you've got a 1 in 3 chance of getting it right.

Double Vision
:P Recently played a thing called "Double Vision" where you have to decide whether some small pictures are taken from either a left or right bigger picture. Based on that rubbish Bingo thing I suspect. On the plus side, more than one player can play at once. Started at a first prize of £4 which was winnable once three of us played together, although it seemed to take about 5 minutes. Btween three of us it was about 15 minutes of effort. Still, better than a poke in the eye with a shitty stick. 

Anybody remember the old crystal maze skill game. Play challenges for crystals for the end game where you could win a fiver! It had a big rolling ball to navigate with.
Also after that came the dating game. That was another great game for using skill. 1 game could take nearly half an hour to do. Point is with these no matter how good at skill games you where, when you reached the end game there would just be hardly any gold tokens or love hearts to make it possible to win every time.

I think the active word here is "trackerball". I doubt they'll be retrofitting the SWP cabs in our pubs with extra peripherals anytime soon...
