Old school cluedo
Old school cluedo
This is my first ever post guys and girls. Was trawling the internet at work at lunch and stumbled across this site. And may I say it is fantastic!!
I live in Edinburgh and there are a few old school cluedo machines kicking about. I managed to obtain every question and answer in the game and have memorised them all (many many questions repeat themselve - and the spoilers are easy enough once youve read them a hundred times). My 2 questions are as follows:
1- Is it bad ettiquette to have obtained the questions and memorised them?
2- Will I be able to make any money at all or am i kidding myself? (Not big bucks, just drinking money)
Again keep up the good work, loving the site.

Welcome to the board!
To answer your questions...
1. Not really. And even if it was, you'll encounter various other cases of bad etiquette round here, so no-one's going to hold it against you.
2. I'm not sure if Cleudo can generate spoilers (and I'm sure there are more than 1 set of questions). Also, Cluedo can quite merrily watch you go round and round the board for aeons without giving you the 3rd room / 6th suspect that you need for cash. Therefore, profits will be slim, but it's still worthwhile giving it a shot.
Let us know how you get on!

i'm going to give it a bash this weekend and i'll keep yous posted.
Seriously its amazing how little questions there are in the game!
Their favourite spoiler is "which of these people died before the others".
After an hour of reading the questions I noted down every person (there are only 29), looked them up on Wikipedia, and now I have a list on excel in date order. Hoping to memorise it but if not its saved on my phone.
As you say only problem is that if it doesnt want to pay out, it'll send me round the board forever and ever....

Hi and Welcome.
In answer to your question. I don't think there is much etiquette when it comes to playing quiz machines
It has been quite common in the past for pro players to buy machines just to learn them and then sell them on.
The JPM version no longer appears on the "mainstream" boxes and now only turns up on old un-networked machines.
If you were going to take the time and trouble to learn every question on a game there maybe better games than Cluedo to do it with.
Please let us know how you go on.

7 machines near me that have it. And when I say machines I mean the ancient style Gamebox machines with WWTBAM, CLUEDO, PEPSI CHART (makes me wanna punch Dr Fox every time) and Fruitix and the like.
So my theory is I could maybe make some money (not a lot - just beer money) but not for long as these machines will be a total thing of the past in the near future I think.
Loving Cluedo Reloaded mind you, none of this "room already eliminated nonsense". £1 after 2 rooms on Sunday. Ended up collecting £5 for no work at all. All really easy questions.

Welcome Ross Keen. A number of people on this board would pay you good money for the locations of those Gameboxes - they're very sought after!
In answer to your questions, what others have said, basically. Forget about etiquette. If these questions you've located are the real deal then you'll probably do quite well, but remember that Cluedo is in the category of game that can easily deny you the prize if it wishes, by simply not letting you land on rooms. So once you've taken whatever the machine is willing to pay you may find you win nothing or £1 no matter how long you play. But it'll still be fun trying, I think. May I ask where you got the questions from?
I also think you've been quite fortunate with 'Reloaded' - I've never seen it being so generous!

Grecian is right there chap. You've just landed on the game right. However the new version is better than the old, taking the jackpot down every time you got an accusation wrong was harsh. Good to have new blood.
Well, I wrestled with
reality for years, Doctor.
And I'm happy to state
I finally won out over it.

I too have a Gamebox with WWTBAM, Pepsi Chart, Cleudo et al to play locally, unfortunately my quiz machine knowledge is merely ameobic in comparison to some who prowl the streets on here. Tis a shame indeed, with people willing to pay for locations (according to a previous post), they must well be worth finding.

Result!! Thought for a change i'd try another of the games in the machine - Winning Lines @ £1 per game - and what happens? I win £20!! By far the best result i've had off a quiz machine, and i wouldn't have said that the questions were extremely difficult either. Godd fortune it may well of been, but when heads turn as £20 comes out of a quiz machine, the feeling of euphoria is immense!!
