I had my first proper go on one of these new-fangled widescreen Paragon 3s today and it's certainly an odd experience. As tka noted, the Bullseye dartboard gets turned into a flat oval and a few of the other games are distorted somewhat as well. However some of you will no doubt be relieved to know that Word Up is still playable it seems.

Overall it does seem a strange move unless there is a plan for a whole new set of games designed specifically for that screen ratio - all the games bar one on the cabinet I played today were old.

I'll post a couple of points about two of the other games in other threads (I-Spy - see spylover's thread) and Battleships (in a new thread).

i've only played the one at ATEI but i know where there is one so i may have a shufty (no, not the fat lesbosian who used to present the word) later. maybe gwhl are programming some more multi-player games, they are no doubt aware that groups of yobs cluster around smaller machines.
