More fool the landlord for not studying hard at school and realising the CID would be powerless in this matter since it would be a civil case :D

Many moons ago, I played a Vamp It Up, and made about £40 on it. The gaffer of the hotel bar was fuming, and had a history of going crazy at people who won out of his fruit machine.

So, since I could feel a barring coming on, I went to the bar and casually clattered the £40 coins on the woodwork. The guy was puce with rage, visibly frothing and champing at the mouth !! I contained my mirth as he yelled "Don't come back after this - you're not welcome here !" to the entire bar. He went to his till, dramatically drew four notes from it and slapped each one in my hand.

1 £20 note..... 2 £20 notes..... 3 £20 notes.... 4 £20 notes.

Thanks very much !

i can only offer the opinion of an SWP player who is in the circumstance of having a lot more free time recently. but this is an interesting thread so here goes anyway:

on thursdays, i tend to play a solid day of SWP in whichever part of greater London where i'm playing darts later. so maybe i am 1/7 pro in that way. the suburbs are much more munificent than central.
on sundays i drink myself silly and waste money in an AWP where i don't have a clue what i'm doing. but i enjoy each.

i will happily admit to being pondlife compared to some other posters but £200 in a day must be a slog on SWP, however, as said above, it is impossible to lose if you have done the spadework. :s:

+£200 is probably doable but it would be a long day and you can get paid better for sitting behind a desk. however, i think SWP players enjoy trying to get one over on the terminal; we wouldn't do it for free but the winnings total is a scorechart which measures whether we can clap ourselves on the back about how amazing we have been.

my favourite wordgame has gone from all but the dullest terminals but there are some sub-scrabble games which will pay for taxi home.

unfortunately i'm joe schmo+1 on Q&A but it can still be enjoyable. that isn't my thirty-nine and, if it is about making a few quid, SWP darts pays for my excessive darts paraphernalia. IRL i'm okay at general knowledge but what some of these top guys know would make a HYENA weep.

if you know you are good at something, you might as well do it for a few beans. but there is just as much joy in performing adequately at something you don't expect to win.

there have been two gameplay underestimations on SWP in the last few years which have paid better than a real job. but, had it not been for tip-offs from two diffrerent SWP posters on here, i'd have been none the wiser. (also i wouldn't have met those guys under normal circumstances so fruitchat has been good for me in that way, not to mention a number of RL friendships.)

i hope this isn't breaking the confidence of any divison 4 players but, of my thursdays, the best has been £140, the worst £35. obviously the top boys would sneer at these numbers but that is my truth for what it is worth.
nobody ever wins on those things.
