Had a good night yesterday in one of my locals (where I'm not particularly regular), which is usually good for some easy winnings. Last night free beer on beat the landlord was the gimme.
Having finally got the GW to take some money (had to turn off and on again, and then use the lucky 50p...), We sat on the machine for about 2 hours, playing pretty much everything and had 3 pints. Well apart from none of the above, Dr Who and a couple of others I really hate. We ended up walking away with a tenner, and would have been a reasonable more if we didn't spunk a couple of quid each through the likes of eliminator, 1 vs 100, DOND etc in the vain hope of seeing a win. (Although we did actually win £1 on eliminator, the first for about 6 months for me).
And it got me thinking - is it more fun to do a crawl (which is definitely more profitable as you only play the current money spinners), or to settle in, relax and just play for the challenge of beating the machine, in a friendly and welcoming pub, where you feel everyone is friendly and having fun?
However having thought about this while writing this post, overall I'd probably follow the money..
What's better

It's all about the Benjamins. My only freak out is when I've won what I was after really quickly but scheduled an afternoon's gamery but I carry on regardless. I've often stopped at a couple of local pubs before boarding the train £30 or so up. Really I should turn back at that point but I never do.
