Police have also revealed they have had "intelligence" on this guy for about 18 months with similar incidents with paragon's and also a bank machine. Each time before there wasn't enough eveidence to charge him.

This time, because of 35mins of CCTV footage the guy has been banged to rights.

If you saw the CCTV you'd see for yourself that there was definately a scam going on. By switching the machine off and then back on, and doing something with the screen before the loading bars came up he was able to gain free credits. He then played the machine and won money using those free credits.

How he got the free credits is still a mystery.
You are lying ricster, either that or you are misinformed. I know exactly what happened. I have been speaking to the 'paragon one', he has not admitted to defrauding the machine and police do NOT have 18 months inteligence on him for similar incidents involving paragons, or indeed bank machines! (and if someone had something on a bank machine do you think they would bother with a worthless quiz machine?!)

I also doubt that an engineer from treasure ISLAND, which is based in northern Ireland (ive done my research) would travel to Dumfries to examine the machine.

As I said, I have played this machine before, it tends to freeze a lot.

Can we just leave this thread at that?

If anyones curious pm.
I dont lie, possibly misinformed but dont lie.

How do you know the person? As i believe in a previous post on this thread that you once played this on holiday, which obviously means you aren't from the local area, but this male is.

Also, why did you need to do research on the company treasure island? I had already said in a previous post that they were from NI, you could have just read it there.

Believe me also, that the engineer was here on Tuesday 2nd Dec 2009 to check the machine over and then give his statement to police.

Im sorry if i have offended you for looking into this a bit further and trying to help police with their enquiries.

I do have one question though. Can you tell me what 2 shops the paragon within the shopping centre stands outside of?

What makes me laugh is that the guy only took £43, if it was a tooler, there'd be an IOU on the screen for £43 and not a single penny in the machine.

£43 is a JP from Casino Royale, and the spare 50p into £3 on pub quiz.

OP is utter bullshit.

It actually is though L. Treasure island wont be able to help, as they, themselves dont have a baldy!

I pm'd ricster some time ago, he has not replied, and i find it pretty low for him to go to such lengths and in his own time to try and prosecute a guy which he has known from childhood and at least on one occasion had a beer with on good terms. No tooling involved whatsoever and pretty legal.

He will not be the last person playing it either.

more paragon skullduggery.I spoke to a member of staff at a Toby Carvery today who informed me that a 2 man team had totally emptied their paragon. Not long afterwards they realised that they had not been the only ones to suffer. Four large pubs nearby suffered the same fate.PC Plod was duly informed and they arrived to dust down the machine looking for fingerprints.
What particularly pissed off the toby staff wasnt the amount of money they made off with, rather that the dynamic duo settled down to a carvery before leaving! Whether they left a large tip is unknown but seems unlikely.
Anybody know of this latest paragon scam.Im only interested in whether it is sticking something in/up the machine (totally dishonest) or exploiting a gliche in a game (fairplay) although as I stated before you have either have to live a long way from a site or have a low IQ to totally ransack a machine with the proviso that you are the only one in that area who knows the trick. If there are loads of people who know then a feeding frenzy is understandable and emptying IS understandable! (see Caveman Capers)
Friend was up near the m25 today and many of the paragons were totally emptied.
