I know that the bonus appears at random. But I was wondering if anyone knows how it determines what type of bonus you get when it does appear (ie letter tips, extra lives etc).

It has a sort of traffic light system and what you get seems to depend on your timing when pressing the Hex button.

Ah, I thought that - but haven't played it enough to really test. There's three hexagons (silver / purple / orange)??? Perhaps which ever one you hit 'when lit' gives you a different bonus?

it doesn't make any difference which colour you stop it on. although i personally have never seen the regenerate hex life bonus. mind you i don't think i've ever got any letters wrong either.

As far as I can tell the bonus is random. I've not seen the extra lives on Maniac - I have seen them on Appeal though.

I agree that the bonus is almost certainly random, but never seen the extra life. What does it do ? all i can think of is reset the wrong guess wheel.

Bonus thing comes up regular as clockwork on Hex Appeal

Never seen a spot prize on either though. I guess it only does it when it can afford it, which is never.

The game is permanently on its arse.

The cash prize also seems to depend on which version of Appeal you're playing. I get it on itboxes quite regulary, but have never seen it on a paragon for example.

I've never seen a cash prize on Maniac.

Had one on Appeal today.
Potion bonus offered elim, etc and also cash prize. T'was a pound. I
remember it now!

The software platform doesn't have any affect on which bonus\how much it pays out.
