Not that I'm anywhere near Birmingham, but...

RDB has to be the poor relation of the three machines - RBD, SW and RR. Surprisingly, I've found both SW and RR quite rewarding - although I won't go into a pub specifically to play one - it'll be a fallback position when I've finished with the others in the pub. RR seems to be the best for me - it may only be small beans, but rarely lose too much on it - simple to tell where you stand with it. Any loss would come from it costing for a board and then not being anywhere near ready.

Anyone played a SW with the volume on full pelt? Tediosity! (?) Everytime you put a coin in, 'Welcome to... blah blah...' Get's a bit embarrasing. Having said that, it's a shame that so many machines have their sound completely off - one of the more enjoyable parts of some machines... I feel a thread coming up... ;)

Heh - it must depend on what the general punters play in each location. People around here seem to love RR - so it's generally always worth a shot - had a good few 'features' and tops for <£20 in - again, as I said - small beans only and not worth going out of your way for by any means.

RDB always seems tight - plus the feature is that bit harder on this one...

I watched an old boy pushing for the top feature on a Rainbow Riches, after getting £50 odd in it offered the feature at the top of the stack thinking it was the best one he took it, he was fuming when it only gave him a score, he had grandkids round his ankles and he looked like his head was gonna burst

Seen a lot of people take that thinking it's the biggun. :)

I've pointed it out before - and it's not exactly rocket science (what a crap game THAT was!) - the features are numbered 1-16 to give a hint as to the value of them... 14 and 16 are the ones that interest me. ;) Anyone ever taken 15? 'Think' it's Crack The Code, but if 14 is pretty much always the top, you'd 'hope' that 15 would be an easier top?

Or a Rainbow Riches, just check 2 pubs and I'm sure you'll find one!

Yep, Rainbow Riches is the tighter of the 3 for a certain playing style. All 3 are reasonable though, if i've got nowt else to do i will go in for these, never usually go too far wrong.

Ah yes, RR is not fond of setting-up, of course. I do find that a bit tedious sometimes on the other editions though - 'sometimes' better to just go full out (or not bother playing it!).

I think someone said before (may have been your good self, Matt) that these are a poor man's Cluey. Agreed. At least they're better than...

-Video Cops n' Robbers
-Italian Job
-Video Road To Riches (why oh why do so many people think it's spelt 'Ritches'?)
-Majority of DONDs

...that have infiltrated most of our routes... :(

RR in the newish spoons just off the high street in Brum, lots of other sweeties otherwise as I found out on a bender last weekend.

Actually, come to think of it, Newt and Cucumber had Rob Da Bank
