It was all a load of bollocks. The industry wouldn't have invested what they have if they didn't know it was a done deal. basically they just said yes to what was reccomended in march.
Question agreed to.
Motion made, and Question put forthwith (Standing Order No. 118(6)),
Betting, Gaming and Lotteries
That the draft Categories of Gaming Machine (Amendment) Regulations 2009, which were laid before this House on 10 March, be approved. —(Mr. Blizzard.)

Prize money for so-called "Coin-pusher" machines will also grow, from £8 to £15.
What does that mean?!

Interesting that the article states the
minimum stake will rise from 50p to £1. I guess that gives us the answer as to whether multi-stake games will be allowed?

Think thats a typical media mis-print.
The maximum will be a £1, not the minimum.

Good call - I was certain that they wouldn't allow 'over' £1 stake, which that implied. Bloody media! Heh...
Manufactures, if you are listening / reading this, for the love of God, please make something WORTH PLAYING!!! The scope that this 'should' allow someone with a bit of creativity is fantastic! I don't want to see...
50p / £1 / £2 / £3 / £4 / £5 / £6 / £8 / £10 / £70
...cash trails. Death 99,999,999 times out of 100,000,000 going lower than an 11 / higher than a 2. Hey, why we're on it, increase the numbers on the Hi/Lo reel. Go up to 16 or something, just to make it interesting. I wonder why they picked 12, when 'standard' reels on pretty much all machines have 16 positions?

10 fingers + 2 arms = 12.
Designers would not be able to count any higher without removal of shoes which would be a breach of Health + Safety. Hence, the limt of 12 came in...
