I heard this rumour years ago but it was the government who wanted all wins over £xx to be paid by a printed reciept/cheque, but it never happened because the industry went crazy over it.

you'd think that there should be a law that they would have to have it in the safe. Similar to americas casino rules about having a minimum amount held on the premises.

True, but a lot of machines, especially ones with larger jackpots, already have the disclaimer "Malfunction voids all pays and plays". In an instance like this they could obviously argue that the machine has malfunctioned because it has drifted too far from its target percentage, or some other rubbish, and they wouldn't have to pay you.

i know that doh, the clever slotters amongst us would take reasonable amounts and move on to another terminal, but once the trick has gone chav widespread ,what i said above would happen, ,,,,and the companys will never implement this for those reasons

So if the tickets aren't legally binding in the event of an emptier, due to the disclaimer I quoted in my previous post, then why would the manus be concerned about the scenario you described?
Some of the original £500 section 16/21 machines had ticket only payout so why wouldn't this have been a worry to them then?

I do agree that it won't happen but it's more likely to be for reasons such as the hassle it would cause getting pubs to install new equipment such as ticket validators and the necessary training they'd need to give staff in how to use them. Not to mention additional costs to the already struggling distributors which would probably be passed down to the sites themselves.

Yeah obviously, but I was just referring to the 6K ticket example you were using.
