Fruit Machine Chat

This week we have seen the government increasing tax on liquor and also duty on machines. The British Brewing Indusstry say 27 pubs closing every week. Now today Inspired Gaming, the largest operator, has said that the pub business in not sustainable, Trading report to stock market.
Looks like the end of the beginning of the fruitie machine business.
All we have had in past two years is DOND from Bell fruit, Barcrest nowt and now the word is that they are building in China and their software is out sourcing to guess where...... INDIA. The others well all we get is the poor imitation of Section 16 machines. With Bingo Halls closing, Casinos well regulated, whats left ? Answers on a postcard.

After a few drunken sessions, I've had some good results on paper/ scissors/stone for £20.

Better start brushing up the skills.

every player with half a brain knows this won't last too much longer... just enjoy the easy money whilst you can get it is all I say....

Can't really see how the fact that 27 pubs are closing each week is really linked to fruit machines (sure I've seen a figure higher than this in previous years) Obviously I know fruit machines are in pubs, but this is seen by most pubs as an extra sideline than anything else. I play across a wide area and can't really recall off the top of my head of any pubs that have shut down on my routes. I think the main pubs that suffer with regards to the smoking ban, are the small independent ones. Everyones entilted to an oponion, but I sometimes feel views like this lack any real substance and are made to try and put people off or create a negative feeling which isn't an actual true reflection of whats going on out there. I've always treated oponions like this, those without substance, with a pinch of salt, ever since the days of the flashbacks when a fellow player said 'You'd better get a job, these fruit machines have been deemed illegal and are getting removed from every pub' Not saying things will last for ever but just don't think this reflects the feeling on the street as it were. Im a fairly experienced player (not a new kid on the block) and I would almost certainly think machines are in their prime, as a far as making money and profits are concerned anyway.

Sorry for posting again so quickly, but I've just returned from a 15 hour £450 Friday and Im reading this and it feels like I must be on a different planet. Can I tell this guy if you'd had happened to play ziggys and clones for the past 2 years, doing regular hours your bank balance would prob between 50k and 100k healthier.

I am setting up marbles tourney if anybody is interested.

are you talking throwing a coin and seeing who gets it nearest the wall?? the kids loved this when i was at school but i was never much good.

Thats exactly what I'm on about Eddie. I played it about 20 years ago when I joined high school with 2p's, soon escolated to 10p games though.

Back in the early 90's we were playing Up The Wall for a £1. Some rounds would have has much as £20. I was the dogs at it and earned a fortune. It payed for me to go to many a rave. Those were the days.
