I know this has been mentioned before but i wonder if one of you lads could clear this up for me.

I have a machine that is set to pay out at 70% but to me seems to be paying out a bit too much. Quite often my mates will play this machine as it is in my games room at home.

I am well aware that if i was to play a good few quid off on the machine and JP it once or twice this would result in less payouts for other players but i want to know if there is a way to 'reset' the machine so to speak thereby lowering the payout percentage.

don't know if i have made it clear what i am trying to say but any help is appreciated.

would pressing the 'hoppers topped up switch increse or decreae the payout or not affect it???

Pressing the hopper top up or resetting anything will not bring down the % payout.As you have the machine on a very low 70% setting to start with and it appears to be paying out too much,then the problem may be the battery on the MPU has failed.This battery maintains all the machines settings including electronic metering and % when switched off from the mains,if it has failed then the running % will be cleared every time the machine is switched off.
When the machine is switched back on it will payout quite regular to build up the actual % it has been set at ie your 70%,when reaching its target the machine will then run as normal until the next time it is switched off,then the cycle starts all over again.
The faulty battery is a common cause for high % payouts.

Indeed, if you have any 'pots' on the machine, look and see what they are before turning off, and then after turning on - if different, blue flat battery (mpu4 eg.) has failed. Also if no pots, leave a few credits in before turning off, if not there after switching on again, battery is certainly faulty. Or even remember whats on reels, again will set to initial default position if battery u/s.
