F***ing Annoying

Right now i am in a bad mood today after this:
On friday i played a m/c which i got upto £88 in the bank from as it started to dump it stopped on £74 and says iou £74 so i called the manager over who says give me your number i will call you when the engineer has been
the day after they ring saying the engineer has been and left a docket can you come in on wednesday which is refill day to collect it and bring photo id to prove its you???
so today i ring them up and get this reply
'Ah yes the woman has been but there is a dispute over the money apparently the engineer said the m/c had been tampered with???
so it now has to go through head office to see if they will agree to pay you'
after about 5 mins of me abusing him and complaining i calm down
then i ring leisure link who tell me its down to the pub to pay you but dont expect it back as it has been tampered with
Where do i go from here???
Surely by law they have to give me the money but it does not look likely
By the way i never did anything at all wrong maybe the person before me did but why should i suffer that much of a loss??
Also i did key it before i went on it and it was full so why would it iou???
Surely the keying it bit would not be the problem
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated

P.s sorry for the long post i am just so mad :x

I can understand what you are going through MrRed, i have heard about similar experiences. The best you could do is to talk to the pub manager and explain that you had not tampered with the machine and what had happened it legit, and you had nothing to do with the problem.

Someone may have filled up the machine wrong. The machine assuming that it has £125/£250 in and it actually has only £125.

A common problem is when a machine has a note acceptor and the engineer only fills it up with £125.

Im very sorry to hear about your problem Red...

Although I will say this....The amount of times ive been IOU'd and never got that call....Or never got that money or "the engineer has been but there was no money to collect"

So many pubs fuck you over every way they can, fuck....ive even had a pub pull the power on a m/c on a mate....

I really hope you get it back Red....But they can say whatever the fuck they want, they always get away with it.

Matt.

Sorry to hear that Mr Red but all I can say is to keep on at them. I had a Top Giza owe me £60 not long ago, told the assistant manager who said to come back when it had been collected.

Went back and the girl that I had spoke to had left her job and they said that there was nothing that they could do but investigate.

Went in next day and spoke to the manager, he tried to fob me off so I said that it was my money, they had proof that the machine had owed it to me and that one of there staff must of stolen it and I was going to report them to head office, he then appologised and went and got my money from the till.

Just don't give up keep pestering them (in a nice way) as that £74 is alot of money.

cheers for the replies guys i am gonna keep on at them
if there is any more to tell i will post here
have been owed money from m/c's a few times and have always got it back
surely its there problem if its been tampered with and as they have not caught the person responsible then surely they have to pay this out

I've just collected £48 from a Yates' pub a full 7 weeks after the YDD I was playing alarmed and wouldn't reset. The pub manager and Leisure Link spent most of that time laying responsibility at each others' door, so I kept phoning to question the delay until I threatened to take it much further and the pub manager relented. Keep on their backs, and up the ante if they start to suggest you might never get paid - they'll soon back off and pay out.

Thing that realy pisses me off is when you put money thro a note changer and it swallows it up! You go to the bar and some dumb bitch says "we will take you name and no and get someone to call you asap"

Bullshit where did all the trust go when you say that!

I must have lost about £30 in note changers and got none of it back beacuse of did head managers!

What made it worse was that the pub in question is about 25 miles away from me, and I don't drive. So when I first went back there, a full ten days after it happened, I shelled out a tenner on a return train fare only to be told that 'nothing had been authorised yet', come back next week sorta thing... (6 weeks later ...)

Like someone else said, it's a million miles from what Wetherspoons do - they sort it same day usually and make a point of phoning you soon as the engineer has been. They might have really ugly french barmaids but they sure as hell look after your fruity claims :)

The words 'trading' and 'standards' may act as a good catalyst.
