"Fruit machine fanatic" - a critique

Post by Cardinal Sin »

Just thought I would give you my twopennothworth on this new site which you've probably seen advertised on this board. Despite our little spat last night - http://fruitchat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=3837 - I'm not critical of the fact that you're trying to sell your site here, even though you're very new. My only complaint was the slightly misleading advertising which you used, on which I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt. Obviously, not having joined your site, I'm unwilling to offer my opinion on the hidden goods, only what is available to the general public.

First off - the positives. It looks reasonably professional, certainly more so than the other crop of similar sites that have popped over the years. It's also good to see that you're given a nod to the fact that many people accessing your site will have serious gambling addictions. It's somewhat unlikely that the "Gambling Addiction" page will have any effect on them, but there isn't a great deal else you can do. It's also good to see that you've got a landline phone number in there, although I assume this is in lieu of an address.

It's also quite interesting that you say "FMF emphasizes on ‘the psychology’ of fruit machines. It's a novel approach, and not without merit. Most people could make an awful lot more money on fruit machines if they only used proper discipline - i.e. avoided the crap machines, the crap locations, and above all, resisted the urge for "one more board" when the machine is obviously on its arse. Furthermore, highlighting the tricks that fruit machine companies use to try and suck in gamblers - particularly addicted gamblers - could go some way to helping people avoid playing machines which they shouldn't be playing (e.g. on the last credit, 2 feature symbols left on the winline, or a Red machine showing all red features but not letting you gamble to them). It's no surprise that JPM hired a psychology graduate whose specialist area of expertise was gambling and fruit machine addiction. Perhaps I'm just getting too cynical, but I don't reckon he was hired solely to help remove the features and traits which attract problem gamblers.

However, let's be honest here. Nobody is going to want to hand over 25 bucks just to be told the psychology of machines and gambling. And this the first point at which your site falls down. Where are the free tidbits? It's all very well alluding to emptiers for S16 machines, but unless I've missed it, I don't see even one machine-specific tip on the site which would demonstrate how much you know about machines. I'm not suggesting you give away one of your prized emptiers, but there are plenty of other modern tricks which you could reveal to entice people. Of course, it's entirely up to you what you post here, but it does rather give the impression that what methods you do have are so few and far between that you can't afford to put up any free ones.

As for your other non-member content, the questionnaire and history section seem, at best, a bit pointless. And that is definitely a picture of a till, not a puggie. And Glasgow has not yet been awarded the sole UK license for a super casino. Presumably you will reveal all the wonderful things can be done with a refill key, and if so, why have you put it in the illegal scams section?

Also, you've mentioned that by joining up, you will be offering emptiers for 2 different S16 machines. Whilst I'm somewhat sceptical that this is possible, especially without plugging, without actually seeing it, I'm not qualified to say. However, presumably since about the only input the user can have into these machines is changing stakes or inserting different coinage, then a sizeable amount of money must be invested in order to empty the machine (i.e. I can't just go up to one armed with a few tenners and walk away loaded). If I invested £25 in your site only to find out I needed to spend hundreds of pounds to get this emptier working, I might be slightly miffed.

Finally, a question. If it is true that "our experts are making profits of £10,000 plus", then why on earth would you bother spending a large amount of time and money creating an internet site which only yields £25 from members? Surely you'd be better off going out making money and keeping these secrets to yourself?

Therefore, to sum up the longest post I've ever made on this site, I honestly don't think you're trying to con folk. Your site gives an air of philanthropy which might even be genuine. However, at the moment it is impossible to ascertain whether you know even as much as "Vic Green" (ex fruitie engineer, and author of the much derided E-book on fruit machines).

I'd certainly welcome your comments, and the comments of anyone who has actually joined up to this site.

Yeah, nice critique there CR. Basically its another realfruits scam site. Please don't anyone hand over £25, you can get just as much info by asking nicely on here most of the time.

As for the s16 jobs - more than likely random spinna/10p job. Old news...

My apology

Post by mcd_chicken »

Ok, where to start. First of all l want to apologise to fruitchat staff and members. I'm sorry if you have received emails from me which held up your inbox. I hold full responsibility, it wasn't my intention for this to be such an inconviance. Initially it was just to gain a bit of promotion but not in a such a negative way.

It really didn't hit me till 'illusion software' had turned down my application for a 'link exchange' till l knew what l did had was such a huge problem, without a second thought l knew l did do something wrong.

Before this my experiance on forums was very limited and l didn't read the 'fruitchat' 'forum rules' therefore l formally made an apology straight away

http://www.fruitchat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=53586#53586

Then l saw this thread.

In response to your criticisms and questions l have taken some time and try to answer them so please take some time to read the following.

Cardinal Richelieu asked a few questions so here goes.

-Firstly thanks for your comments on the positive aspects of the site, FMF site established and went live only recently and theres alot of ongoing work carried out to tune up the site however l'm glad at least its of reasonable level.

-Our focus on the Psychology of fruit machine gambling isn't only as a novelty feature, it's really quite important and critical for any fruit machine player. For example, if you were playing a 'Golden Game' (3 connected together) the psychological forces acting upon the player is huge. Without the professional qualities or the stong 'locus of control' its easy for a player to end up going into a jackpot battle with the neighbouring players. The difference with 'winning a few pounds' and losing £££ is very fine.

- I disagree, l personally think theres alot of players that would join my site to learn more about the Psychology of fruit machine gambling because its fundamental to becoming a profitable player on fruit machines. Alot of players can benefit from learning the psychological aspects of the amusement arcades, using differnt things around the arcade to your advantage, etc etc. WHile the people reading this might think its all common sense, then why do most people miss these things out. Usually its the most simplest things that funny enough are the most important.

- 2x S16 Emptiers: The 2 emptiers mentioned on the site has been changed accordingly, rather than a emptier its more of a trick used for quick profit. Thx.

- Emptiers l agree with you are very valuable and lose its value very quickly due to new programs and its true there are various old emptiers and very few new emptiers on the site. However l don't think thats a problem, on the site you get what you see. We promise to update our content regularly on a monthly basis and we will keep to that. We also inform of our members on 'current news' everytime we update our content.

- The picture of the 'till': Is a default pic, that is totally my mistake, at first my intention was to have the pic there just to see how it would look while l find a pic of the 'Eureka' fruit machine. I will change that asap over the week. Thanks.

-Refill KEy: I'm not sure why you think l will advertise the great wonders of a refill key. On our site we advise players not to use them, why risk being barred and lose out on the potential profit when you can just put a few pounds in and find out if its playable. Even if hopper's are full they can be deceiving in many ways.

-S16 machines: You pointed out the various aspects of a S16 machine that can be manipulated and rightly so you are correct. However there are other things that can be used in your advantage from S16 machines. If you have time, you can phone the site phoneline and have a discussion about this. There is no hidden costs and calls are charged at local/national rate depending where you are. I am happy to do this.

- Your Final Quesiton: This is a toughie, in my defense l would say that £10,000 to me isn't alot of money and apart from playing fruit machines l actually have alot of free time. For the fruit machine 'fanatic' so to speak what other way is there better to make some extra money than to teach people how to play fruit machines? whats there to stop me from creating a Club on it. I usually play 2-4 hours a day, sometimes5-6hours depending if a get stuck or having a good streak. Mostly play end of the month. So theres plenty of time for me to do something else as well.

For the rest of the posts , lets say the members, ' who do not like me' l can only apologise more and sincerely respond that its not my intention to con anyone. The fact that l have a business phoneline should tell you that l intend to have a internet presence in the fruit machine community for a long time. I have been barred from using my Fruitchat 'Private Messages' however l will ask support to allow me a 2nd chance, if possible in the future this will be used appriopriately.

If you have any questions dont' hesitate to post or email me.

Best regards.

A decent reply there 8)

By the way, you do know S16s are completely random? Therefore there aren't any methods or anything you can do to guarantee anything on them.

Thank you admin, l hope the rest of the guys take my apology.

A repley to your questions regarding s16's

The fact that S16 machines are made for business can def be a solid statement its not 'Completely Random' We are just dealing with a much bigger set of numbers and the streaks you get are in bigger intervals, further apart and less. People aren't used to that, trying to adapt from £25 awp or £250 club machines to a £500 machine.

I would disagree, what you mean is there aren't any 'methods' or 'guaranteed' variables that are 'obvious' which can be manipulated.
But there is, you have to think 'outside of the box'.

As l said, some simplest things can be the most important when you look carefully at it.

LOL, think about it?

how can a s16 be completely random? would you put them in your shop knowing that you might lose money.

Obviously they make buckets of cash for the owner thats why they put it there. So therefore it must streak and have a set percentage which the venue profits from it.

It's whats known as a house edge (look it up). Its how roulette wheels will always make money over time too.

There are more losing combinations than winning ones....yes occasionally they will empty themselves with a consecutive series of large wins, but over time they will make plenty of money.

As for your cryptic 'outside the box' comment....do me a favour!

Right, the reason why a roulette wheel win's in the long term is because there are 37 numbers including the '0' whereas you only get paid 36 when you win.

Whatever you mean by this 'house edge' thing, it's just a % percentage, right?

It's not a magic variable called a 'house edge' that you can apply to all things gambling.

In the end, its a matter of sums and the venue owner puts these machines in their shop because they make alot of money.

You said S16 were 'COMpletely Random' if l'm not wrong. That in itself is wrong.

l'm not arguing, 'There are more losing combinations than winning ones....yes occasionally they will empty themselves with a consecutive series of large wins, but over time they will make plenty of money'

But your just stating the obvious lol, that happens as a result from a set percentage on the machine, lol.

There are things that can be use to your advantage on a few s16 machines.

REgards,

Btw this is a constructive argument right? cos don't wanna get my PM taken off for this.
