Post by Adrian1971 »

Hi,
I have an early 80's fruit chaser fruit machine (based on PAC-MAN)
I need to know its value as i'm selling it.
Any of you experts got any idea?
Cheers

If you're thinking of putting it on eBay you will need a single permit which costs £25.

Most fruit machines are not worth alot as they are difficult to sell on.

But if from.the 80s it could be worth a few quid because if has old parts people may want.

Technically its worth fuck all but if someone sees it and they have very fond memories of it they might give a couple hundred.

Best thing is to ask over at mpumecca (google the site) as they love pre 1990s stuff and will tell you if its any good. Most people on here have not played a fruit built before 1995 lol

Think big. Not the deal or no deal. Just think big!

Early Jpm, collectors love them.

Not seen one for sale, I would guess 3 to 4 hundred.

Fruit Chaser? Not the Fruit Chaser?! Get on Antiques Roadshow and be prepared for a very pleasant surprise.

There's a Facebook page with old fruits machines for sale on. They're pretty passionate on there about them

Fruit Chaser is the £3 Jackpot version of £2 Jackpot Fruit Snappa, changed when the Jackpots
went up way back in in 1983 ;)

As long as it is in reasonable condition should fetch at least £300 or so. Great fun to play these games were, along with Road Runner and the 2p version Route 66.

Spot on, Roadrunners crop up from time to time but as started the 2p edition Route 66 is very hard to come by.

No Mr B to the F to the K, sacked it a while back now and went back fruits, it all seemed to change a while ago, programs seem to go tighter and terminals, well someone seemed to press a big "super suck mode" button a while ago so knocked it on the head, have a blast about once a year. The last two plays was a £20 in, £10 win and it was that depressive I just collected it and walked away, I had £5 in one passing a 777 a couple of weeks ago which for a unknown reason went to £75, i just collected it.
