Looking around an arcade the other day and it was members only to play on the £500s. What are they worried about?

An arcade Bognor used to do that years ago if they thought you knew what you were doing.
Some arcades are genuinely members only, or have a designated members area but let you join without question.

An arcade in Cheltenham has a system where you needed a card to swipe your way in. Or at least it did, not been there for yeeeears.

Is it still there? Not been to it for years.
Never got given a card when I joined, would just ring the bell and quote my membership number on entry.
