Star City

I had some business in Stoke-on-Trent on the weekend, and thought I would stop off in Star City on the way back, just to see what was in the casino, since when I went 5 years ago, it was pretty good.

What a shithole !!! What happened to it ? Dirty, falling apart (the chair I sat in broke, and i'm no bloater !), rank beer, spotty youth croupiers and a shite selection of machines.

I'm not surprised it was pretty much empty, even though it was Saturday night.

The only good thing was the relatively cheap drink prices in comparison to London, and that I hit two big fronts on 21+3 for a nice raise.

Stoke-On-Trent: For anyone that lives nearby, I found a good SH that I got barred from. It's in the White Swan in Newport Lane (ST63PJ) Enjoy the friendly atmosphere !

I thought you were describing Birmingham as a whole, then I realised you were referring to the casino.

On top of that, cars get regularly broken into in the so-called 'secure car park' just to round off your evening in the best possible way!

I hated star city casino, supposed to be a flagship casino but in my opinion its shite. Same machines everywhere, nothing which really makes it stand out. (the outside lights look good though)

back when the random 500's were on the bottom floor of star city, it was a pretty impressive casino. Now there is nothing on the bottom floor, 10 gaminators on the gaming floor, 1 3 card poker table and 1 blackjack table ! The rest is roulette terminals and roulette tables.

Dire.

What in gods name took you to the White Swan ? I used to live round the corner from it in the 90's but now the area looks like a war zone, shut down boarded up buildings everywhere. I'm amazed it's still open.

The wife likes pottery, the only reason to ever go to Stoke-On-Trent ! And yes, it's like Beirut in the 80's there now.
