Did the Internet & mobile phones have alot to do with fruit machine imformation getting leaked.

I remember i used to have tricks/emptiers between 1-2 years before they came out.
Alot of tricks/emptiers had been posted on the internet,
When the mobile phone came out towards the mid 90's, alot of tricks were told over the phone.
If there was no internet or phones then there will be no leaks. :P

Mobile phones came out far before the mid90s john.

I'm pretty sure that mid/late 90s had a lot to do with.

In the early 90s, it was still costing 25p/minute for local rate on landline phones! Come late 90s, it was down to 1-2p/min. Mobiles were in the region of 50p/min in 1996, tariffs and rates not really coming into consumer range until 1998.

The Americans were 3 years ahead of us on the internet side of things because they get free local-rate calls which means free internet. 1995. Over here, local rates were still expensive in 1995 and it didn't kick off until 1998 when we were finally privileged to enjoy 1-2/min calls. We were also late in moving over to broadband, 2004 being about the average, where in USA it was more like 2001.

One thing where we are actually ahead of USA now is mobiles. Most Americans have to pay to RECEIVE a text as well as sending a text. Over here we pay to send and most contracts now have unlimited texts. We're also quite big with mobile internet and that will have a contribution towards instant communication.

mobile phones played there part with some of the more basic everyday information been passed around. That is why some of the best methods over the last 10 years are the ones that couldn't be passed on verbally.

I don't want to take this too far off topic but USA mobiles operate on the same networks as their landlines as do Canadian ones,therefore they can call locally f.o.c

Anyone with free calls to the states from their landline ,as I have,can also call American and Canadian mobiles free upto 1 hour at a time.

Lol you can't even call a u.k mobile free from an openreach line.

I bought my first motarola orange pay as you go mobile in 1997, calls cost me 50p per minute, 0800 numbers were free, my phone looked like a walki talki with a long arial sticking out,
I remember being thrown out of a pub just for recieving a call & playing an old jpm classic, the governer told me that the phone made the wins roll in. :x ops: :P

I would say satnavs have also been a contributory factor.

Previously hard to find pubs now are, well, less hard to find!

I walked passed a Beemer the other day that still had a car phone, an actual carphone!! Not seen one of those in years, are they even legal anymore?

Yes as its not classed as a mobile phone as its fixed. Its why Top Gear use walkie talkies when they are driving to get around the ban on mobiles as a walkie talkie isnt a mobile.

The same as taxi drivers use walkie talkies, i always see people driving using their phone on loud speaker, its still a puller but basically the same as a walkie talkie if you as me.

Wondered why it seemed “ok"for old bill to drive on radios still!
