Quiz machine style fruities?

A few months back one of my local pubs pulled all of their fruit machines and replaced them with these I.T. style machines. It only lasted a few weeks and the idea in that pub was dropped. Does anyone know if this idea is still trying to be pushed forward. It will obviously be a nightmare for in the know players. A few obvious problems would be 1. You would not be able to tell if the machine is backing (quickly becoming a past time anyway with the new note payout) 2. you can't key them 3. the manufactures have access to all games from base so could pull every game in the country or re-chip them all almost immediately. I imagine it is only a matter of time before they develop the kind of chips in machines that can be changed from base anyway rather than engineers running up and down the country trying to locate and repair them.
