Amusement Rip offs

Post by john32 »

Have you ever been ripped off in an amusement arcade, where they have short changed you?

I remember going to the Trocadero in London's Picadilli, i was always playing those £25 gaminators, i was making around £200-£300 per day & when i cashed the money in, the woman in the cash box used to short change me by around £30-£40, i never said anything as i was not 100% sure as i never counted the coins before i gave her my cup.
One day i pre counted around £100 coins & she short changed me by around £20, she would keep moving the stacks, even giving my stacks of £10 to other customers. :x

Take the coins with you and change them elsewhere, or stack them in 10's so you both know how much is there, sorted.

i'd tell her that if she didnt give me all the money she had stolen id follow her home and rape and kill her family.
that normally gets their attention.

I've not had anyone try it on me in an arcade (touch wood), but a few bar staff have done it. One cheeky staff even tried it with a £20 note, buying a pint and then see if I noticed that a £10 note was missing in the change.

I never like the weights in arcade change desks. I'd much rather pile em into fives and let the attendants count em rather than put em in a pot on a set of scales. I just don't trust them machines

I bet a few barstaff have tried that one, the worst that can happen is they apologise for there 'mistake' and refund you the difference.

I think it's the other way around - her fault for not counting what he was giving her.
