I doubt if reds would let you go against the number like pie factories for instance, i had name fill on an invincible earlier and had a little mess around going lower than a 3 and higher than a 10 etc and not one gamble won, on a pie you could go lower than a 2 and higher than an 11 and it would gamble everytime when ready, even if a red was off its tree and you were over £300 in i can't see it letting you gamble the wrong way. i suppose the best way too find out would be if you owned the m/c and try it, would'nt fancy it with real money, it could take the piss all day.

Because the machine would take the pi$$ and kill you anyway, wouldn't it?
Technically they don't predict a number - they decide whether or not you are going to win the gamble, or lose the gamble, and then spin to a number which reflects this decision.

ie - you're on SS and u have a 3, the machine has decided you will lose the gamble to MS. If you go higher, it will spin a lower number - probably a 1, as they like to do. If you choose to go lower, it will spin in a higher number.

It's more like this.

The fruit decides if it will let you win, within certain parameters. I.E, to stop you winning two gambles instead of one, disallow reverse gambling, but always win the odds-favorite gamble, if a win has been pre-determined.

It's easy 'cover-our-arse' lazy programming, but it works for the manufacturers.
