or another option would be to cut out the £105/£140 streaks and have a more conservative streak, the 4 reel Deal is good for this, usually a £43 streak, giving the player a game, and the casual player a game.

Bring back fun machines where a casual punter loses their money within an hour and not 10 minutes, Doctors & Nurses or Yabba Dabba Darts an example of this.

Like I said again, £35s will work if the £35 cycle comes round regular.
Or even back to the drawing board with Arcade/Pub settings, arcades giving bigger streaks and pubs giving regular wins.

At the end of the day, it is the manufacturers to blame. Yes, there is good stuff, but it is rare.

Whichever programmer released Open The Box should be shot and all machines recalled immediately.

Games Media need new Anologue ideas.

Just where have all the good ideas gone. I'm hoping Psycho Cash Beast 2 exceeds all targets, it may be the start of something good in the industry again.

If you put a 25p/£10 awp and a 50p/£35 awp in most pubs the former would take more money.

Dont take rid of the streaks, machines like YDD are o.k but are not really worth travelling for due to the profile.

Then you look at Invincible style reds and the profile is the best you can get imo when redding you can reycle it flat making £30+ yet the player can make £50+

Although its flat once done you still see boards! you cant want to get rid of the £105+ streaks for £43 lmfao that would be stupid!

It's fair enough. At the end of the day it's a PUB. Not a CASINO. Really we should be talking 10p play, £5 jackpot.

Traditional PUB GAMES.

DARTS.

POOL.

TABLE FOOTBALL.

SHOVE HA'PENNY.

SKITTLES.

BAGATELLE.

BILLIARDS.

A £5 Simpson's Duff Beer Guide resides pleasantly within that lot. The key here is it isn't going to HURT your average man. It'll also be entertaining.

A £35 jackpot, starts to stick out somewhat. It's costly. £30 for a board on Cash Attack anyone?

£500 jackpots would be crazy. It's out of keeping with what the trade is all about. I don't walk into Cadbury World in Bournville and expect a line of crack on a bar of Fruit 'n Nut. Out of keeping.

This is something you don't get down a casino. We're looking at FUN, not paying off your mortgage, or more likely, applying for a remortgage.

We're looking at games where £20 will give you some bloops for your buck. Sure there are some ropey £5 machines out there. Don't site 'em. I could program some great games on £5 jackpot.

£15 jackpot, £35 jackpot, much of a muchness in my opinion. Probably decreased take on the £35 because people can play slot machines on their computer now, for real money. Oh yeah bookies have these things called FOBTs in now. F all to do with 'playability' or lower stakes or any of that other shite. You can play on line poker for microstakes, on line slot machines for micro stakes. If you're an addict you can do 10K in your high street bookies. The 'analogue' fruit machine is no longer king of the instant gratification gambling world.

£5 machines with no notechanger.

£15 machine would do worse than the £35 one. Addict would plump for the latter. £5 crowd might leave the £15er alone.

but when £15 Jackpots were out, streaks were £45/£60 at best and that was 30p play! You always went home with the same wages as you do now (with the odd MT thrown in)

Personally, stuff like Reds, however much I like them and their streaks, if the casual punter ain't filling them up, theres a problem.

You've got to watch out in pubs soon. If you shout "Can you change a tenner, darling ?" or tell dirty jokes then you could get sued. No shit.

I remember sitting in the pub when i was little, i still remember to this day asking for a sly pound to put in the open the box, most people on here will remember this machine, back then obviously had no idea how to play but it was TRUE AWP. streaks existed back then a simple 20p six quid open the box could roll for a 40. Machines have moved to the next level its no longer AWP as the amusement factor simply does not exist, not in the 35jp market anyway.

i'll be honest i haven't read all the posts on this thread . . . BUT, it is an easy observation to make that people will always have small moneys that they are willing to 'gamble with' ie beer change. if that means roll back 25 machines then so be it. . . what can you do, eh?

About a year ago 4 pubs by me used to house 3 machines all of them now only have 2 in, a loss of 4 machines over such a short period of time and a serious lack of choice with the 2 remaining. DOND or DOND or a DOND. So how much longer will it be before its down to 1 in each? then not long after that one of them other digital type things in its place, then the end of fruits as we know it.
how about a greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray.

DOND and Bell fruit are wrecking it!

remember when you could have to wait upto an hour for a YDD or a Wobbler, cabin fever etc etc as the monies they had could be recycled and cycled until it dropped the random pot in or they hav spent there £20 and had a good hour play! (£25 JP)

Now you play a HOF and well £20 for a board then dead lol as if the manu can do that.... talk about greed on there behalf!!!!!!

Now the time has come for them to look at what went wrong and well it aint hard!

Of course the notechangers have a big effect but all they need to do here is copy GamesTec

Theres no entertainment-value in the fruit m/c industry no more.
like Anfield said, whos gonna want 2 play a HOF again, after they
often cost about £10 for a
board & bumps on 2nd gamble.
