I think On the Busses was the first time I became aware of the concept of a player. There was one in the pub under work and some bloke used to come in regularly and nail the feature where you had to stop the picture of Stan on the winline.BFK wrote:

On the buses was probably the 1st machine I knew I'd got the upper hand on. The skill feature seemed so easy, with the stan symbol being different to the rest of the reel you could see the blip clear as anything when It sped up.
It would even give 5 1st move and let you gamble higher for it half the time.

spoof could be emptied the same way as alladins cave
cash zone, wasn't really skill. as soon as you got to 80p? onwards it was all the rhythm - quite easy as it happens.
can't remember the name of the machine. was one of the first 20p £4.80 jackpot machines out there. 4 reels - second feature up - reel match.
i remember i spent ages learning how to do it.
a couple of years later they bought a similar machine out called 'classic' which was a 3 reeler, but slipped on reel match could be worth a £10 - £20 raise. i'm sure a few other people must have known, but i found out and told no-one. you could put 10p in and press collect (was 20p play you see - gave refunds back then). It occasionally chucked a £1 instead of a 10p out. Was dodgy in pubs, but in a services etc it was an easy empty.
