I think most people think the fruit sits in the corner taking money without hassle - this level 1 thinking gets people nowhere!
I wouldn't be surprised if the operators had some sort of theft insurance, seeing as how all locations tend to have a camera on them the premiums probably aren't too harsh.

It's quite fun to do the math on the figure of £100,000,000. Maximum hopper contents were £250, so that means over a year, 400,000 full hoppers had to be robbed. That equates to 1095 machines per day.

These figures are far too generous though, but as a rough example of how silly the £100 million figure is, it's not too bad.

The press talk bollocks as we are all aware, always makes me laugh when when you see a double page spread on something or other, then a few days later you find a single paragraph somewhere in the middle, ''on such and such we reported blah, blah, we accept this is wrong and we are sorry'' after the damage is done, tossers!

Well if you own a house you take the risk of someone burgling you. If you own a car you take the risk of someone stealing it or breaking in to it, if you walk about in dodgy area after dark you risk getting mugged. The point being what? And tooling machines isn't fraud it's simple theft.

The point is you wouldn't go running to the press whinging about it! You've got to deal with it and move on - you know as soon as you buy a house/car there is a risk of it being broken into, hence you can do x y and z to protect your property. Obviously some machine companies do not do their relevant x y and z...

Thought in that Real Hustle vid they said that there were 250,000 fruit machines in the UK. So how can 400,000 of them be robbed? He's not only indicating that he has more than 400,000 but easily there are more than that in the country.

400,000 hoppers need to be robbed. Machines can be robbed more than once !

And a bit of publicity on how much you've 'lost' is always helpful for completing tax returns in a cash-only business.

True, I suppose saying "Hoppers" are the same as "Machines" could be used in the same context...except hoppers as you say could be robbed more than once if we are along the same lines.

I think you lot are jumping to Conclusions a bit there....it doesn't say in that article bob rudd themselves have lost all that money, just that they estimate that figure. My guess is that its more likely an industry wide figure they are quoting

We all know the truth...The amount of money that was stolen due to tooling was ridiculous. It more than likely scales much more than what they are saying... If you work out the mathematics, you will see the potential money that could of been earnt.. It's crazy.
