The person who's behind this and who works for select is over on potty. Sure he'd appreciate the feed back on this from you guys. I'm always happy to give feedback on machines if asked (as I expect a few others are on here).I only played the two quiz games and the Word Up type of game so my feedbac...

G-box

I came across a new machine on my travels this week, called G-box,it is made by G-squared games, website http://www.g2games.co.uk . It has lots of different puzzle games on it (which I didn't try, apart from a game really similar to Word Up) and some 10p games for fun,and two quiz games. These I think w...

This is the Gamesnet machine I am referring to - I have not seen this update on IQuest or Kudos.Robin Hood or whatever it's called is back and Millionaire is back on the front screen.Games such as Pub Quiz,Raiders of the lost Quiz,1966 and I think also Hangman Saloon all now have 2015 questions.

I've seen some more of these now - Millionaire is on the front screen with Pointless and Bejewelled2 moved to the second screen. To be fair they have done some of what I've been advocating on here in that they've brought back some older games and updated (or maybe added to) the question banks.I didn'...

even with my rubbish word game skill, I could do pixel this quite easily! Yes,when I said there wasn't a problem with the game,I was speaking more of its playability than its difficulty. They would have been better off,in my opinion,in making it harder to win on,and having a bigger jackpot. I didn't...

Issue 34

To echo what I said about issue 33,it exists so that in itself is something positive. The new pub quiz and Hangman Saloon are on it.I was moaning previously that Pub Quiz had been relaunched without any sort of fanfare, but they do say that it has new 2015 questions. As they do on other games, namely Ra...

Ok,but isn't 'nibbling' a reasonable strategy nowadays? As you say games have extensive defensive mechanisms which means specialising in one or two games mightn't be that sensible. There's often only a small amount in the float - I have no problem with it ending up in my pocket through a few differen...

It was always a sort of social thing and an alternative (more savoury) choice to a fruit. On the financial side, you're obviously right though. There are virtually no pros left btw, the manufacturers are totally paranoid. It's nothing like the 80s or 90s when anything vulnerable (and virtually ever...

it is a similar situation with fruit pros, except because the money involved is so huge, everyone can take their slice. although to be fair i am amazed that the botton level that contribute all the money continue to do so? imagine the quiz world that had thousands of people regularly losing over £5...

Ok - yes,you do get three chances like the tv program, and some of the answers offered are wrong so there would be time to use the net to at least check if an answer had a chance of being pointless.Nowhere near time to check them all though so that's only of limited usefulness.

Saw someone use a mobile phone earlier to win on pointless. I guess this is standard procedure for the end game then? The impression was that they knew exactly what they were doing and didn't appear to have a drink! They collected their bank of £12 (including the fiver jackpot) and walked out via t...

Getting young people to play quiz machines

If quiz machines are to have a future, then I think it's vital that they capture the interest of the new pub-going generation. In one of my first ever posts on here,I talked about the smartphone having a detrimental effect on quiz machine play (I don't mean by using it to look up answers, rather it bei...

New quiz shows

It seems that everytime I put the TV on at the moment (or glance up at the screen in the pub I was in as happened today) I find a new quiz show. There was one on today called Decimate which looked quite good.Apologies if it's been on a while but I've only just noticed it now.I only mention it because...
