1823 no-clear last night. And it was all my own fault, specifically for thinking that OOK was valid. I'll be honest: I've still not quite got over it.

Word Soup, gone?

(puts rope around neck)

I'd always assumed Bounty Hunter was purely a skill game. Will have to check this one out now.

By any means...

I'll avoid the obvious retort of ...ignore this game. New Paragon thing involving Charley Boorman (sp? Correctness??) trying to get across the world via various means of transport. In that sense, and the sense that certain questions take you certain miles, it reminds me of the old game Around the Wo...

Had to be impressed by a recent topic I was given on Family Fortunes: Name something a dentist might say to you that would also apply during sex? Some of the answers: Relax, open wide, this won't hurt a bit, swallow.

Has anyone won more than £6 on the £1 version? I'm not sure I've even seen a figure beyond that.

I've had that once, on a Gamesnet. I was also playing with deep suspicion, so took what I had.

Played ALIQUOT last night. Unimpressive score and length, but just a really nice word.

I discovered what may be Hyena's highest Word Soup score the other day: 1921 in the Wishing Well, North Finchley. QUIETENED was the top word. I think it's only fair that he's entered on the scoreboard.

For those who are interested, the Moon Under Water in Leicester Square has a peculiar quirk. If you play Family Fortunes, you're presented with the years-old Q+A game instead of the Hangman version. The machine also smells of rotting groceries.

Manager's Choice seems to have gone though, which means no Cryptic Clues. Unlamented by many, of course, but I for one will miss it, and I suspect dmac makes two.

I approached the Ice Wharf in Camden QUIXOTICALLY yesterday and was rewarded with 2207 points, my new PB.

I've also had QAIMAQAM rejected, to my extreme chagrin.

Round the Clock Darts has been on previous OPEN formats. I know of at least two sites in London with it. The main difference of the new one seems to be that it can offer an arbitrary jackpot value (£8 the first time I tried it, £20 the next two times) instead of a guaranteed £50.

I'm not sure I care very much for the Family Fortunes Big Money skillstop being nothing of the sort. It just offers you the lowest amount each time. I still enjoy the basic gameplay though.

I was in a bar near Soho yesterday evening, where I very much enjoyed playing COQUETTISH.
