Ha ha,no I didn't mean literally a pound.I can't remember how much I took out of that one but I can safely put an upper limit of £20 on it,as taking more than that out of a quizzy nowadays is either impossible or counter-productive in my opinion.

Funnily enough,I logged on here to start a thread about how many pro (or semi-pro) players there were nowadays, but I may as well just carry on here.I've commented before about seeing the same names on leaderboards and with the introduction of Formula Win which has the date of the score achieved,it's...

Following on from what Matt and Nil have said, while they seem to be pushing these tournaments, checking the leaderboards seems to show that they're not available at many venues. Not much chance of playing one if you live in Scotland or the north of England. Also, what has happened to Subz? Surely that w...

Thanks for that,Matt.I wouldn't mind having a go at writing some questions myself in a poacher turned gamekeeper scenario.Classic Bullseye is interestingly titled in that it's actually a new version rather than an old one as you might expect from the title. There are a few questions relating to a dat...

I wrote between 2,500 and 3,000 (I can't recall exactly now) a good 7 or 8 years ago now. Some of them still pop up now and then in some of the more long-standing games (if you are lucky enough to find them). I did sneak quiet a few of the FruitChat related ones in there too, but I know I was certa...

Ok SoccerHQ,shows how behind the times I am! I remember thinking that the time runs out pretty quickly when you're near or in the money though. To be fair, that is something I'd like to see more of in general, but it makes the game quite a bit more difficult - certainly for me anyway!

I suppose I'm in denial a little too SoccerHQ,there are still a fair few machines out there but there did of course used to be far more.I am hoping that the arcade game machines you mention have limited appeal. You can after all only play one game on them while on a quiz machine, there's far more vari...

What I would say though are fruity players have balls of steel re the big stakes. SWP players wouldn't enjoy the ride of a fruity, like knowing straight away the likelihood of winning. I take your point but I think we'd all like to play for bigger stakes. The who wants to win a tenner game congratul...

I obv don't play quizzies, apart from to put a pound or 2 in if i'm somewhere that i don't want to leave 2 seconds after catching the last coin out of the fruit! Fruits go in cycles, there could be fantastic opportunities ahead or barren nothingness! when the hundreds came out it was doom and gloom...

Nah, it was a machine that definitely had it on before. Maybe I just didn't see it on the second page?! Anyway, apologies to one and all, seems I jumped the gun! Yes,I've seen one now where Pointless has disappeared post-update.A bit sloppy really given that Pointless is possibly the most popular g...

It's not quite the end yet, bubbles though to borrow from a previous quotation,we may well have gone past the beginning of the end some time ago.I,like cool, still think some sort of renaissance is possible. When I walk into Wetherspoons and the like and see 6,7 or bandits that all essentially do the s...

Pointless is still there on all the updated machines I've encountered so far, paragoon. They'd be pretty daft to get rid of that given how popular it is.It still should be on the front screen really. There was the odd gamesnet knocking around that didn't have it on before - you probably came across one...

To return to paragon's post - I have seen a few of these now.I was concerned that we wouldn't get an issue 35 but as cool correctly predicted on another thread,we have done. The new games are what looks like a new version of Tri towers (I never play those games so can't comment),Golden Gloves,Formula...
