I was wondering if it's simply cost - is there a cheapo option for pubs, where they get the cabinet, but only the second-rate games? If so, it seems a false economy - how much play will a quiz menu get if it doesn't have Pointless / Pub Quiz / The Chase? This has crossed my mind so many times over ...

I wonder if the increase in the price of drinks has been a factor, in that the closer a drink is to a fiver the less change someone has to put in a machine. Perhaps there'll be a renaissance when it edges over that and every pint comes with a handful of coins. Or use of contactless payment will inc...

B and D for me. The new Gamesnet menu is a case in point - NEW! Brainteser! - shit game that's really OLD AND NOT NEW AT ALL and impossible NEW! The Crystal Maze! - OLD game. Enjoyable to spend 50p but impossible to win NEW! ...can't remember what else they're claiming as NEW! but is actually OLD! W...

Thanks for the feedback with general confirmation of my observations. I do the odd local quiz but have never enjoyed them much due to (a) its too much like work without the rewards (b) stuck in one pub for ages (c) The amount of cheating that goes on. Pleased having switched from chess to running a...

I wouldn't be surprised if the game machine is totally dead by the autumn. This week alone: 1. Three more Wetherspoons now without machines. The last three to open up here had none. 2. About 35% of machines seem to be switched off. 3. A new bug!! Playing PMPs this afternoon and midway through it the...

Sounds like a good idea in principle. One of the few times I've had to wait to get on a machine recently was because a bloke was playing from the gambling screen on a Paragon. To be honest, I was quite happy waiting, on the grounds that a cabinet which is taking money from gamblers is considerably ...

Was in Huddersfield yesterday....popped into the 'spoons by the Station to find there were only 3 games on....Pointless, pub quiz and one another. Must've been a technical glitch as the screen display didn't even look complete. If that's a sign of things to come though.... Aye it's mental. Found an...

Wish I'd been around for that. Some of the lasses on NUTS are quite fit. Especially the one on the stairs. And the one in camo gear.

Their last creation Pub Pod was an attractive cabinet from afar until you looked at the quality and paucity of games. It's a shame really. Used to speak to them quite often although this company exhibited the paranoia in the gaming industry. They were hardly guarding state secrets. lol. That remind...

I must say it's quite an aptly named thread this,as it does seem that everytime I go out on an old route,it seems that one machine had disappeared.Well, actually it was two on Tuesday (and one of those has had a machine for over a quarter of a century - showing my age there) but one pub had put its ...

My advice is buy a time machine. Go back ten years and you could be rolling in it. Otherwise forget it.

Bookies are ********s!

Stuck a small acca on the Oscars - 7 categories, £2. They all won. When I went to collect they offered me £2.51. Turns out they don't accept such bets so they were all just singles. Even though they DID accept it and never told me otherwise at the time. Shocking.
