INCONSEQUENTIALITY (828 points) - think this claims title of highest scoring word that has actually been used meaningfully in English rather than just as a token for word games - not that it matters.

Planning a day out on Monday where I will make (yet another) attempt at the plural...

...which gives me a hook to claim CONSEQUENTIALITIES (756) - not a record breaker (though Ernest's tables suggests it's not been done before) but very close to one. Was there an I and N close to the C ? Yes. Did I mess it up ? Yes.

In reply to Istenem - no offence, but FELLATIO sucks ! CUNNILINGUS (Ship Anson, Portsmouth) is much more satisfactory - in terms of long term rewards (most obviously, of using difficult letters).

Scooped a massive £2 with score of 20xx on a Souped-up IT Box yesterday. Also got QUIZZICALITIES but since I would not have thought of that as a word had I not read it here, a rather empty achievement...

[Oh - and what Istenem said about WU/Wordblox etc.]

At 900 for £5 it'd be worth me getting the train from Portsmouth up to Walsall for a sesh - but guess this was a one off. How much did you win ?

INCONSEQUENTIAL (Clinkers Tavern, Fareham) - with another L being adjacent, seems I was only a convenient Y away from matching highest scoring word ever (?). Ah well - next time...

Ah - that makes more sense - thanks

I never play DOND so hadn't realised you could get these odd amounts.

Odd credits, pool game, and an honest landlord

Has anyone else noticed odd amounts of credit (12p or suchlike) being 'left' in machines recently. Nearly every machine I've played over last few weeks has had some - is it possible some machines (at least) are programmed to add small amounts if they're not being played to try to attract the punters...

Pushed my PB up to 2105 (in the Bugle, Titchfield) on Wed - of various decent words, got EXQUISITELY tonight (400 and something). I do find it vaguely interesting that when I beat my PB it's not due to one of the headline words (Quizz****, etc) - also, without any formal analysis, it does seem that ...

Had a couple of WU sessions round Portsmouth (and a couple of places in W Sussex too) in last year and can't remember seeing any impressive scores from DEXTROUS or anyone else. The only name I've recognised on my bit of the south coast is NILS SATIS, who topped the board at a Varsity in Southampton ...

If I'm thinking of the same game - suspect not, unfortunately. The points it offers for potting a ball in a particular pocket seem to be determined in the same way as the prevalence of spoiler questions on a quiz - I scored 450 points for potting one ball last week when it was obviously keen to let ...

Playing Word Up you get used to people saying "You've got 'SET' in the left hand corner" - someone topped this last week, saying "Are you allowed sports words ? 'Cos if you are, you've got NFL."

Came across a 'Word Soup' in Fareham. Identical to standard WU (with the WUGM dictionary as far as I could tell) but with a slightly revamped appearance. Only explanation I could think of was it was a quiet week in the Big Fizz offices. Or is it a tie-in with National Soup Week ?
