Anyone have any cheets or tips on the global knight life or the barcrest top gear bandit?

i tried to force a £5 jackpot vivid machine tonight. i keyed it and it read that it was full (£0 to fill it) and put about £8 in to it and it was relectant to pay out anything. has anyone any ideas as to what went wrong?
