A fool and his profits from the machines will be easily parted , if he tells all and sundry what his best games are.I thought many years ago that the jackpot on a certain game was unattainable until a buffoon told me he was getting jackpots from it.Consequently my profits soared and his dived. Its b...

If anyone is bothered, the Mint itself, i.e. the initial £100,000 jackpot that goes up by a £1 each minute, has gone. I didn't actually see it happen but I knew something was up when I caught the start of that night's programme to see The Cheeky Girls as guest 'presenters'! - they'd been taken on to...

Possibly. 850 is the 'par' total (if you pardon the pun!) in the same way that £2 for 32,000 points is the most common setting on real Millionaire. I have noticed on the second version of Crazy Money that it reacts badly to any sort of win i.e. by setting the next target to around 1100. For that rea...

QuizMaster may have inside information or he may just be being mischievous but he does touch on something that has puzzled me about your story, Mr Cool, namely that you say you average twenty pubs a day for an expected win of circa £5 per pub. Now to me winning around £5 per pub isn't going to get y...

Are you sure this is just a lunchtime phenomenon i.e. are the same machines on if you go in later in the day or is it the even more annoying problem of broken machines being left switched off for anything from a day or two right up to a few weeks?

There is definitely some money to be had from this one as long as: (a) you develop the basic skill needed to hole the 'putts' - and it is skill with no tricks or fiddles (unlike a certain darts-based game I won't mention ... oh go on then ... unlike Bullseye!) although some people might dispute this...

The reason he gave me was that he thought It wasnt fair on the other customers. The reason he gave the police according to them was that he thought I was on the fiddle. The only aggression was from him after I had left the pub.The police wouldnt act. Unless the police were off duty and were helping ...

Re: BANNINGS FROM PUBS ONGOING NEWS

Martyn observed this situation and took it on himself to approach you and request politely , that you finish the game and leave , as staying on the machine could spoil it for other customers ... For winning £20 the manager Martyn Clarke banned me for life! cool - I'm not doubting your story but wha...

A nice WU jackpot at Bar 42 I seem to recall. Is it 42 or some other number? It's Bar 38 down at the Oracle: http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/17/17691/Bar_38/Reading I believe they have a Blue Plaque on the wall commemorating your fine Word Up JP! I got my second 'All But the Operators...

The whole idea of those TV games seems wrong to me - there is no real skill involved as you are either (a) answering some very easy anagram or picture quiz or (b) trying to second guess someone else's incomplete list of answers to a particular category This was certainly the case for The Mint's pred...

Or maybe industry boffins are working on Brass Eye-style technology to squirt us with tranquilizing gas if we win too much!

Big Brother is watching you

An interesting article I came across while reading that story of the guy getting barred from the Litten Tree: http://www.morningadvertiser.co.uk/news_detail.aspx?articleid=7779 It gives an insight into how much data can actually be collected on machine intake, and presumably payouts, wherever games ...

P.S. The story itself is a little odd. I'm surprised someone who has been playing for so long (even longer than me  ) would 'put his head above the parapet' like this. OK, legally he might have a case but writing to complain seems pretty self-defeating. It's the same for me as not being paid o...

What's all that nonsense about players using their mobiles? I think what that guy means is the mistaken belief that you would have time to phone someone up, give them the question and the possible answers and get their response in a 'Phone a Friend stylee', all in the 10-20 seconds allowed, and tha...
