Re: that list you just printed Hangmanfan.

Very good, and you should count your blessings too because iirc cryptic clues had exactly the same category but it insisted on you inputting the full name for the foreign teams...dear old automobili tourismo e sport!

Haven't seen one of these yet, but the departure of Word Soup sounds like a bit of a shocker - as you say, a favourite not just with the word mavens on here, but also with Joe Public. Indeed. Hard to imagine they were losing money on it. I'm not so sure. I think that the newer, stingier payout stru...

If they were able to design such a thing, a perfect game for them would be one that punters play all the time and which occasionally rewards them with £1 or £2 wins while at the same time more serious players can find no additional rewards available, and also are given no clues as to a game's state...

:D I mean if you win anything over a quid- which is not that hard, it just doesn't transfer the money into your bank. A quid- no problems. Otherwise nothing. I reckon this could be pretty popular as well. It reminds me of some old Paul Daniels gameshow which fortunately I have blotted from my memory...

Eliminator

Anyone else played it? Just wondered if you too have come across the progressive and imaginative way it appears to have of keeping it's % payout regular ie not paying out at all if you win too much. That's a new one! Or perhaps I just got skanked. Reckon this one has some addictive qualities anyhow....

[ What I don't understand is why you feel the need to open the Word-Up thread every so often and hand out abuse. Everyone already knows how you feel about it, so what is it supposed to achieve? Have to disagree. I don't see anything wrong with his banter, which usually makes me laugh. Can't recall ...

Voted 1 Despite the minimal monetary rewards these days and the lack of ability my mate and I display compared to some on here, the achievement of clearing and/or getting a 300pt plus word etc somehow makes up for it. And if the dosh is out of sight we just play against each other for a side bet on ...

PLAYER BEWARE! What a rip off. Playing this tonight i was up to 2quid with the 3 only 2 arrows away followed by a mystery then 4quid immediately after. Happy days i thought, as i got to the 3 quid with complete answer and free letters still intact. The screen went 'clunky' for a second and then, lo...

Only found this on an Open so far. Same as Appeal but given a bit of a makeover ie more blood  ...Took the easy money and went on something more lucrative- the only real differences appeared to be some new categories- Norse Gods, 80s TV, and the removal of some others- Steven King/Terry Pratch...

This may be apocryphal, but in the 80s I seem to recall the Manchester Evening News spot the Ball comp rolled over so often and got so massive (50k+) that one bloke employed scientific methodology ie hundreds of photocopies and laser technology to pinpoint every possible position of the ball on the ...
